Richy
[ QUOTE ] Oh and also... Can anyone advise me on who is best to use for currency exchanging my finance money to EUROs? Lombard pay out in GBPs up to £50k so need to change to EUR . Who did everyone use and would they recommend? Cheers [/ QUOTE ] I didn't bother fixing the exchange rate and just paid the bank to do the transfer when it was time to pay. The Euro exchange rate doesn't seem to vary much, certainly not as much as the fee is to fix it. Infact when I came to pay it had only moved by £28, in my favour
Richy
[ QUOTE ] Mmmm, Never heard of it, i can guess what it is tho, hehe. Like a scotch guard for the paintwork? Who is doing that for you and how much? Cheers [/ QUOTE ] Have a look at http://www.driveandshine.co.uk/detailing.html
silentandy
Mine was from Select and I too just used my bank account to do the transfer. Likewise the euro hadn't changed that much since ordering and the bank only charged £17 for it.
robin09
Will be interested to see in a few years if the difference between your buying and (eventual) selling price proves its more prudent to import. Though my guess is that there wont be too much difference between the eventual cost of owning a UK or an imported car.

I am actually having a slightly different treatment to the one mentioned on that page, which invloves DuraGloss 105 TPP on top of the 601 Bonding Agent and 111 CCP on top of that! Have a look at this. Might be worth asking about. I'm actually getting a GTi not a R32 btw

Richy
Picked up the car yesterday. Very happy with it! I'm being a bit careful not to go over 4k revs to often but I am also not driving it like a granny Noticed today that the number plate is actually incorrect. Informed Shaun tonight by email and he got back to me at 10pm saying he would drive some new ones down to me himself tomorrow (xmas eve). Amazing customer services! I cannot recommend Select enough tbh.
cjallaway83
Superb! Looking forward to getting mine even more now. Was it all in top notch condition when you picked it up? Got any pics of the lovely motor yet? Oh and also, did u have the folding mirrors? If so, does the passenger mirror move down to the kerb when in reverse? Wasnt sure if it still did it on the import ones. Chris
Richy
[ QUOTE ] Superb! Looking forward to getting mine even more now. Was it all in top notch condition when you picked it up? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah. No problems at all. Although I nearly had a massive dent in the front when some nutter almost smashed in the front of me when I was getting petrol in the garage round the corner. I was sat there waiting to pull out and he came screaming over the hill, saw me sitting there and thought I was going to pull out so slammed his brakes on, which locked up his front left and he almost lost it heading straight towards me. When he regained control and saw me sitting there with my eyes and mouth wide open he just smiled at me. Was quite funny I suppose, but not at the time! [ QUOTE ] Got any pics of the lovely motor yet? [/ QUOTE ] Not yet. Will try and get one today. Want to wait till its clean though really [ QUOTE ] Oh and also, did u have the folding mirrors? They are very pimp and yes, the left one does move down when you reverse. Not sure if the right one does. The one thing I would say is that I wish you could set them to fold automatically when you turn the car off. Mind you, I don't have a clue what most of the knobs do cos the manual is in German, so maybe they can!
petsy
you'll need to manually turn the knob to the 11 o'clock position for the mirrors to fold in.
cjallaway83
Sweet Look forward to seeing the photos. The manual should be in english i think? I remember reading that they will supply you everything as a UK car would have, eg. the manual. Id prob check if i were you, they might of forgotten to give you the english one....
