Simonl
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] My 335D is quicker than an R32 in the dry [/ QUOTE ] Really?? [/ QUOTE ] I would say so. More BHP than an R32 and more torque than a Gallardo.
Oli
The 0-60, for the 335D saloon, on the BMW website is 6.2 secs, same as the R32, so there shouldn't be much in it. Its the midrange that the BMW would really fly!! This has just given me an idea for when I want to go sensible with a car - not very sensible though is it?? scillyisles
335D has immense torque in the mid range and consequently is quick because you always have instant "go" available. However, in wet or greasy conditions you'll get the DSC light coming on in most gears and if it gets icy or even worse snow then forget it. Leave the 335D in the garage as it will be a nightmare to control. Given the choice in the weather conditions we have at the moment, those who don't want to have scorched underwear or heart stopping moments would choose an R32. nicks3
Exactly, the R32 is a fast all weather car.
charding370
Apparentley the RSi is less definite than it was to be produced at all. Its all about costs. Still on the table though.
BrakeSnake
There is a thread on here about snow and ice driving in the bad weather over the last few days... Think you'll find the fat summer tyres and ABS/ESP of the .:R can make it just as nasty and give you just as many 'oh !$?*' underwear ruining moments as any other car.... Maxyboy
I took a phone call from my dealer today, who it turns out was phoninng to tell me some interesting news. He tells me there is an article in volkswagon driver this month that has information on a golf RSi, which he says is 300psi, 4wd, 3.6, between 25-30k, limited to a run of 500 and looking at september for the cars. He also says this ties in with stories he has heard and he will keep me posted in the next few weeks. More news to follow.

Maxyboy
I did have to go back a bit to find this thread! i am in a dilema though. i have a job interview in the next few weeks and it will be a couple of months before i hear if i was succesful or not. if i am offered the job i will be moving to a company car and selling my R32, let alone moving to a RSI. RedRobin
....Why do you have to move to a company car? Can't you choose to run your own car and so enjoy what you want to drive?
Maxyboy
That would be ideal, but the job i do i end up in parts of the country that means i would never see the car again! So the best solution is running someone elses car and not caring a jot about it. I have only done 4300miles since last june/july so having 2 cars on the doorstep would be crazy i think.
