David Wilson
Anybody thought about a boost gauge for the new S3 yet, particularly if you are planning on chipping it?
JohnS3
Cant say I have, where would you put one that didn't look like it had been added as an after thought?
Mac
Why Isn't the new S3 a recirc turbo anyway as opposed to a dumping type? What's the possible benefit then of knowing the current boost pressure?
David Wilson
I miss not having a boost gauge, so decided to fit one in the only reasonable place available.

s3geezer
Looks a bit boy racery for my liking, but good job anyway - I'd rather have the cool aircon blowing in my face though.

kace2006
i disagree, not a lot of people actually point that particular vent in their faces, mine go toward the window (on that side of the car)
David Wilson
While the flow is reduced, I should point out that it is not blocked completely. It still flows around the outside edge of the Gauge.
DigimeisTTer
I agree the vent is there for a purpose i really don't see the point in a boost guage at all
David Wilson
Clearly there are a lot of people who dont like boost guages and thats fair enough, each to his own. For those who are interested and would like more details feel free to PM me with any questions regards
CarMad
I do find it odd they don't fit boost gauges as standard... If you want to fit on that's up to you its a free country. Well kinda .. a nanny state lets leave it at that.
Adam
[ QUOTE ] I do find it odd they don't fit boost gauges as standard... [/ QUOTE ] Could not think of a dial I could be less bothered about to be honest. I use revs / speed primarily and temp gauges when warming up/down but too busy keeping eyes on road / scameras to bother with anything else. Also did not think boost gauges are very easy to interpret. But what use are they? If there was a problem with my car's turbos I would feel it regardless. CarMad
Its just another gadget to have in the car, I wouldn't use it for anything. I don't in mine. I think it was good in some of the older Saabs to see the boost gauge kick in mind you there weren't anything as subtle as they are now.
