Removing the factory wax from paintwork?

Nearly every car cleaning company does a CHEMICAL PAINTWORK CLEANER.

I would get one free of oils so give the Zymol a miss in this case and then you can see what kinda conidition the paint work is underneath.

You can get something like Megs. DC1 Paintwork Cleaner for £7.99. Poorboys Pro Polish is very good but very thin, a little goes a long way.

You might want to try some clay to, its probably been hit by all sorts of fall out etc.

Then i would look at a glaze or your own wax to finish the prep.

I had a feeling you'd say that... grin.gif

Just thinking out loud here but if you're wanting to 'make the car your own' as it were, would it not be a good idea to take the paintwork right back with something that will strip all waxes eg Fairy and then start with the specialist cleaners and waxes? Then from day one you've used only the best products applied by yourself.

Just thinking out loud as I said but what a project!
