Adam
Merlot Topic was about RS4 but you seem to switch to S4 Anyway if you are talking RS4: folding mirrors not possible on saloon and avant which have two arm wing mirrors in aluminium casings. Sure they can be pushed in manually. The RS4 cab has a much less cool conventional single arm, and folding and/or dimming of side mirrors is possible. Folding is £120, dimming and folding £340 but you need to spec the £200 dimming rear view mirror/sensor pack as well. Can't believe that electric folding mirrors is a deal clincher on a car purchase !?!?

Markallain
So can anyone explain if the mirrors can be folded manually and if so how it is done?
mark88
The mirrors are one of the most beautifully designed aspects of the car IMO, the Cab looks worse for not having them.
Adam
Agreed and a strange spec difference. Maybe cab drivers like to be able to fold side mirrors in so they can check their hair from the side too?

Folding mirrors are key as the garage at one of my houses is too small to get an RS4 in without the mirrors folded. I didn't know they could be folded manually (they feel pretty stiff) - thanks. Merlot
Thought so. Shame - Indeed why don't Audi offer the choice of S4 or RS4 Cab mirrors on the RS4 saloon and avant. Anyway, saves me some £. I think I'll wait for the M3 instead.
Tizzy
The RS4 saloon/avant mirrors aren't even aluminium either, the silver casing is very obviously plastic - and cheapens the car IMO - especially when the S4 ones (B6 anyway) are real aluminium. (Won't stop me getting one though!)

[/ QUOTE ] Same problem here. Garage built in 1929 (!!!) is fine for a small hatch like the 205. The car port is tight but would hold an RS6 Avant if you parked perfectly everytime. Walls are already carpet lined. However, the drive is only 2m wide for a good 40 feet before it opens out! Ian

[/ QUOTE ] ETKA lists S4-type folding mirrors and caps (but in aluminium matt) for the RS4: 8E0 857 507 B 1L1 (left), and 8E0 857 508 B 1L1 (right) That's the part numbers for the matt aluminium caps - to which you have to add the folding mounting and glass.
