I wonder when Audi will cash in on it diesel success at Le Mans.

Perhaps they've something in the pipeline IF they win this year. Surely a diesel S5 (i.e. all the suspension, brakes etc plus a tuned oil burner) and a diesl TT has to be the way forward?

I must agree scott, but the 335d and Alpina 335i (360BHP) look great value compaired to audis now(I can't beleive I said that either) smashfreakB.gif

At launch I don't think a 3.0TDi is a viable choice. Like most diesels, that engine needs an auto box - and there ain't one available yet.

When they mate it up to what ever's replacing tiptronic (S-tronic?) that'll be the car to have - and the vast majority of 3.0TDi's will be spec'd with it.

I'm afraid that you are right - just about all A4 and A6 3.0tdis' sold are tip. I heard that an A5 tip is coming a few months after launch so it looks like DSG is still some way off for a torsen quattro car.

I've been waiting for an S4D for years ... with the large percentage of diesels being sold now throughout Europe I'm amazed that Audi haven't created a family of S3D, S4D, S6D & S8D - they've got the engines available to do it.

4.2 TDi with DSG........ yeh I'm dreaming........ although if this new autobahn speed limit comes in there will be no point in anything other than a TDi......
