TDiAvant
As some of you may know, last month someone decided to use the back of my S4 as a brake, so it went in for a new bumper and new tailgate. Now I'm wanting to get the car pro valeted, but I'm been told not to touch the new paint work for at least 6 weeks is this correct?
ahaydock
6 weeks does sound a long time, I would have though a couple at max. Also dpends on how they cure the paint.
alexc
If they've oven baked the new paint then you can apply product to it straight away, if it's been left to air dry then I would leave it for approx 4-6 weeks. Have a word with the painter and see what he recommends.
Gaz7
You can polish straight away, as it will have already been polished by the bodyshop. Leave other products off for a while to allow the paint to work harden - at least 30-60 days. Gareth
Sponge
[ QUOTE ] ..but I'm been told not to touch the new paint work for at least 6 weeks is this correct? [/ QUOTE ] If this is what the bodyshop said, then follow their advice. If not, then ask them. I wouldn't be taking any advice from people in here tbh. Afterall, no one here will take responsibility if you knacker your paint as a result.
