What a bummer, its almost criminal to think that the Ro is still in band F so will only pay the £190....or however much it will be.

And considering how much crap the Ro kicks out, I find that a sheer insult to drivers of other cars bought after 1st March 06.

Cant wait to go and live in France. The UK is a money grabbing sh1t pit.

This is just the start, regardless of who is in parliament at the mo... they will all use the biased global warming data as a way and means of taxing those who can afford to run and buy premium/sports cars... just like fox hunting, it is yet another assault on the middle classes and those who work hard for a living and want to enjoy their earnings...

Intersting,

Just been looking in the back of this months Whatcar mag our lass just came home with from shopping and it has a 'carbon offset cost' section in the price listings and for a Mk5 R32 its listed as £38

"Carbon offset cost,

An annual cost which would offset the carbon dioxide emitted by each car over 12,000 miles. For more details and to offset your carbon output visit www.climatecare.co.uk "

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story (or preclude a new tax on motorists) fekr.gif's:

You Pommy drivers seem to have more than your fair share of draconian motoring laws and taxes, which started with that red flag walking in front of the first cars!

They can basically ream you blokes till the cows come home because no one wants to give up their cars and they know it. fekr.gif

I've always wanted to use the fekr.gif icon, by the way, and this seems appropriate because thats what they are:

Interesting reads by the way Graeme. Unfortunately this approach of theory is all too often shunted and buried by the sensationailist Hollywood style of Modern eco scientists that just want to be seen in the current limelight and receive shed loads of extra research funding to pump out more bullshite than the whole of the human race can excrete in a century! • 2 weeks later...

Just read the N.O.W,s motoring questions by Quentin Willson and it says there the new tax laws will affect all cars registered after March 2001 !!!! even the DVLA calculator comes up with something similar....so I,m real confused now.whats the definitive answer...when does the big tax increases start from cars registered after...march 2001 or 23rd March 2006...any ideas guys..?????

cars reged after 2001 fall into 6 groups A-F depending on emissions. ie a 2003 R32 is group F and will pay £205pa

However if your car was reged after March 2006 and has emissions higher then 225co2s it qualifies for a special super group G, in which you will pay the £300, ie a 2007 R32.

Other cars reged after March 2006 with co2s lower than 225 fall into A-F as before.

The exact date for class G is cars registered after 23rd March 2006.

Mine was registered 30 March 2006.......and it was late being registered because DVLA and VW ballsed it up.

At least you can take some comfort in the knowledge that the planet will now be saved due to you paying extra road tax. ROLLEY~14.GIF

Like you said, Brown's a cnut. And he's going to end up as our PM. suicide.gif

Not if it's registered after 23/03/2006 it's not

Note the statement in RED on your renewal.

"The rates of duty were correct when printed. If they change in the budget a new rate may be payable"
