Snail
Gotta lurve working in IT! We have a 360 in the office, and i've just had a quick go of the demo. The graphics are good, better than PGR3, but still need a little TLC, but its very detailed, and a nice solid 60fps. Works really nicely on the 360 controller. Im v excited about getting home to have a good long play on the demo, but from what i've seen, it looks cracking
Snail
Bloomin typical, i couldn't get this last night as my broadband was up and down like a yoyo Thank god for the new option in the 360 dashboard that downloads stuff then shuts the 360 off, so i may have it when i get home

Snail
Well, the more i play this, the more i like it. Its fairly easy with all the assists on, but turn them off, and its a real challenge. With no assists i cant even get the Sagaris off the line without going into a barrier
Dave
I honestly don't want to down load the demo before the games arrives.. I'll wait for the big one
DHA
I had two races last night and well I was dissapointed. I never saw the original and PGR has been my driving intro on the 360 and forza was a bit of a let down graphics wise for me. Will it be better in the actual game? Snail
Apparently its pretty much the released game.
DHA
The track etc is fine, its just the cars dont have as much quality as I was expecting. And it does seem overly tail happy.

Dave
Hmmm.. curiosity got the better of me so i had to down load it.. What do i think??.. ok, good even, but not excellent.. not until we get the full game play. Cars handle ok, but over sensitive.

[/ QUOTE ] The thing is, its not PGR. I wasn't really that convinced at first, but once you start getting used to it, its stunning, especially when you turn all the assists off, and can start to control the tail slides. Dave
Yea, true. I'm getting better, but it's the complete opposite to PGR3, it all about smooth braking and driving the line, not chucking it into corners and smoking the tyres. I am finding the slower cars handle like bricks on wheels.. it's ok, but more of a chore than fun at the moment.
Dave
Actually the more i play it, the more i admire what they have achieved. The car is sensitive to throttle inputs, so it's not like pGR3 where it's all throttle or all brake, you have to drive round corners with say quarter throttle... very clever

[/ QUOTE ] Completely agree. But then this is meant to be a simulation, rather than an arcade game. I've been playing this back to back with PGR, and this really does show PGR up. Every car in Forza has its own characteristics, and you do seem to need to drive each car differently. I think PGR is going to remain the most popular racing game on the 360, but then PGR is balls out fun, where Forza is too realistic.
Dave
Oh yes.. you are dead right... turn off all the assists and the car comes alive.. Now we're getting there
Snail
[ QUOTE ] turn off all the assists and the car comes alive.. [/ QUOTE ] Definitely, the only assist i use is ABS. Im seriously considering the steering wheel, as it would allow increased control, which you really seem to need in this game
DHA
Yeah I am toying with getting a wheel as well. Can you use them on your lap or do you need a table?
Snail
Everyone says it needs a table, which is the main thing stopping me at the moment, as i dont have an applicable table at the mo
Dave
Mick, have you had a go yet? What do you think?.. seeing as you're the master on PGR3
Chelsea Mick
Dave Only had a quick go on the demo other day. Plays pretty much like the last Forza really. Obviously the graphics are better but gameplay, as far as I can remember is very similar. With all the driving aids on it is fairly easy as long as you don't try and drive flat out all the time. As Snail says, take them off and it becomes a different game. You can get round a lap a few seconds quicker. I can see that it's gonna be quite frustrating "online". All it takes is for someone else to give you a little tap in a race and around you go in 360 stylie. It will be very difficult to make up that ground then. Anyway, I've pre-ordered it, but I've got that horrible feeling it's gonna one of those games that just ends up on my shelf after a while and we will all go back to PGR3
Dave
Agreed, I knocked a 'computer' car out of the way, and then it seemed like that car had a vendetta on me, and eventually took me off. It's all very clinical, and i also agree, much like Forza 1, which to be honest i got bored of fairly quickly Let's hope there's more to keep us hooked this time.
