Hi Guys, just had the second service on my 2.0TDi A4 today, and they mentioned it would need a software update to the ECU. I had it chipped about 12 months ago, would it have removed the program and reverted back to the original. I swear it wasn't as quick on the way home ?? fekr.gif

Thanks, now what do the codes mean.... sportifs2.gif

Basically the car has one main ecu which feeds off to five other smaller ones, this update is to ensure that if a problem arises with one of these units that the others will be able to cope without the car not starting.

As per the service technician at the dealer.

Just checked out my most recent VAG-COM full scan, and my B7 has guess how many ECUs?

TWENTY ONE!!!

01 - Engine 1

03 - ABS

08 - HVAC

09 - Central Electrics

11 - Engine 2

15 - Airbags

16 - Steering Wheel

17 - Instruments

37 - Sat Nav/Radio

45 - Interior Monitor

46 - Central Convenience - which has 4 sub-modules (1 per door)

55 - Xenon Range - which has 2 sub-modules for adaptive headlights (1 per headlight)

65 - TPMS

76 - Park Assist

77 - Telephone

And that's only the modules that can be seen from the diagnostics connector. There's others that can't.
