No point from a licensing PoV. Say you buy a £18 NHS license but you're not qualified for it - you're no more licensed to use the product than as if you had downloaded a hooky copy from Bittorrent.

All you've done is wasted £18.

This is a cracking deal. Needs to be too considering the NHS has the biggest software contract with Microsoft in the world. The least they can do is sub some copies of office for the staff!

Interesting; and amazing in a way. Someone told me the other day that if the NHS were a country, it would be the 30th largest economy in the world. We're certainly one of the biggest single employers, short of the Indian railways or [insert random organisation here].

How much of this is Snopes-able I'm not sure, but I think we're only just waking up to the joint procurement and other potentials.

Cruiser: I got this and you need an NHS email domain for them to send the registration key to (CD comes in post). Nothing to stop you sending it on to your mates, I guess.

Quite. Although they would only send 1 licence on that offer

I work for a global pharma company and we get the MS offer of £17 for Office and also a different scheme where you pay more like normal prices for Office & XP/Vista - although why you'd do that offer I don't know.

I've been checking out RM Basement and have a question about buying Office. All I really need is Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint, so according to their website, Microsoft Office 2007 Student Licence - Basement is what I need.

Easily create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, and manage your e-mail

Contains: Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, Outlook 2007 and Word 2007

But according to other places I've been looking, the home & student version doesn't come with Outlook at all. Anyone know for sure?

I got a reply back - you get office Pro Plus which I understand is everything EXCEPT OneNote and "Groove"

btw I have to correct this.

I got the NHS Office 2007 and both OneNote and Groove are on it. They are a pain in the arse and were swiftly deleted.

I am still working my way around it but like it. Wifey hates it.

I work for a large oil company & we've just been informed that we can get this deal for the cost of the delivery charge - £17.31.

The version we get is Office Enterprise 2007 - after having a look at PC Worlds website, it's the equivalent of the Ultimate Edition, which they are charging £549 for!!
