khutula
[ QUOTE ] Good to see that there is two sides to the arguement with everyone. Agree with lenny will never get the money back on turbo conversion, but also agree with shark, anyone can go out and buy an RS4 but how many people have 400 bhp R32. RS4 sitting anything between £43 and £47k at the moment well out of my league but who knows what they will be worth in 2 years time, ?????? £30 to £35k ??????? Should be getting commision for this but anyone interested in the details of the turbo conversion, or wants to read up on it and give me there opinion www.vagtech.co.uk I must say stealth and different is swaying the arguement at the moment, but when it comes down to parting with the cash who knows depends whether i have sensible head on or not. [/ QUOTE ] Nice choice though really isn't it an FI R32 or an RS4. To my mind its a question of what you want out of the car and how much you will use it - oh and how much spare cash you have As you only use your car as basically a second car can you really justify spending £35K for it to sit there all week. Of course like you said the RS4 would get the Milltek treatment - but would it stop there? I am sure like me you would want to start altering bits and pieces - so it would cost more. I personally would go for a stage 2 VF supercharger that puts out in excess of 350bhp. If you aren't happy there you can add a race file to take it to 400bhp. If you're still not happy there are two further stages . Stage 4 is supposed to put out just under 500bhp. Like you said you'd need to upgrade your brakes etc but you would get one special car at the end of it.
JasT
[ QUOTE ] My only concern is that most kits are for the LHD cars. Is there a readily available kit for RHD? [/ QUOTE ] Seems my fears were unfounded, see below: Thank you for your inquiry, Jason. Our Mk4 FT series of turbo systems have all been configured to be compatible for both left and right hand drive cars, and the Mk5 system will be verified for RHD fitment in the coming months. Every component, right down to the hose clamps, hardware, and heat-wrap, is included with our package to make this the most comprehensive kit available on the market. We are proud to have vehicles across the globe choosing HPA for their forced induction solution and are confident that your trust is in safe hands with us. Should you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Kind Regards, HPA Motorsports Inc. 604-598-8520 ext.103 Now, where do I get that $12k from

bondy
due to vagtech being a small company and only one person in the office,it was very hard to get back to customers, vagtech are now dealing with the problem by hiring more people, one being me to deal with the day to day stuff which then allows jon to concentrate on other important things,1 being the turbo kits.i have been around vagtech for over 2 years helping in my spare time and am now a member of the team.i would like to say sorry to everybody who experienced the problem of not recieving infomation on the turbo installs.we are at this moment in time putting a document together which will hopefully be finished this week. having driven R32turbo's,audi tt turboand the 565hp RSI beetle all i can say is.....you wont be dissapointed and its well worth the money. I have no doubt that having the .:R will not be dissapointing, its just finding a way to get hold of the money to have the work done in the first place!!! Mook
[ QUOTE ] What kind of cost are we looking at here. And how long would it take to get fitted? [/ QUOTE ] IIRC, the fitting time used to be the killer - VagTech used to want the car for 6 weeks - it may be less than that now, if they have more staff. The upgrade isn't cheap - you'll be spending a good chunk of £8K or more, unless VagTech's and HPAs pricing has changed. You'd spend similar money on the VF supercharger upgrade, so get your savings raided...

Mook
That's where I got to with mine, which is why it's going. I've taken it as far as I can with the mods to date. Going forced induction was a possibility, but long term reliability with 25K miles a year was a serious consideration. Which is why I'm waiting for a friend's toy to come up for sale when he gets a new RS4 in a couple of months...

bondy
Yeasty,it takes about 6 weeks to get the kit and we will have your car for 1-2weeks.its not a cheap option i will admitt but its well worth it.
JasT
Bondy, do your prices reflect the strong £/$ rate at the moment or are they fixed? ie. Are we getting a cheaper kit today than we were a few years ago?
