tainted_love
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Unfortunately, I`m not sure that many who can afford to pay out 35-40k will want to put their money into one of these. [/ QUOTE ] Hasn't stopped the Chrysler Hemi from selling? Same sort of thing - albeit a bit cheaper. [/ QUOTE ] But the square at least has a little bit of presence & merkin chic. This just says I won't/can't pay the extra 10k for an RS4 (or 15k or so for an M5/M6). At least the Monaro looks ok, whereas this just looks like a car crash between a boggo Holden, an Impreza and a small budget [/ QUOTE ] While the looks are not to everyone’s taste, you have to give credit for this car once they become available second hand with decent low millage. Then, the 1st owner would have been shafted by high depreciation and you would have a bargain V8. could make a nutter track car once it was stripped out with rollcage and the like
cruiser647
[ QUOTE ] I remeber seeing a version of this car (not the VXR8) on TG and it had problems going around corners....but even that one seemed quick in a straight line!! [/ QUOTE ] Auto Express have said that is not a problem now. Cornering is fine! In competetion with the Jag S-Type, VX8R & Chrysler Hemi, the Vx won. Chuffing bargain price too. Cupramax
[ QUOTE ] Chuffing bargain price too. [/ QUOTE ] Until you realise it costs the equivalent of £23k in Aus...
Gabster
I would rather eat my own do do. You need power looks and coolness, this has one out of three.
BigMeanBob
I'm finding something strangely appealing about this...and I don't really know why. Guess it's the 'muscle-car' feel that it seems to have. It looks like a very American car... Guess the truth is in the handling though... Anyone know if the supercharger is a factory order only, or can you go standard and get the blower retro-fitted? b0b
Mort
I love it... I have a mate who has a supercharged Holden SV6000 .... which is similar....
v6tas
[ QUOTE ] .......Next thing you know, they'll be trying to breathe life back into a Calibra. [/ QUOTE ] That might well be happening, as now you mention it im sure ive read they are definitely thinking of bringing it back in one form or another. As the for the car in question, bang for buck i suppose it would be hard to beat but would you really spend your hard earned on that rather than others in its price range...hmmm not too sure
Golfer
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Chuffing bargain price too. [/ QUOTE ] Until you realise it costs the equivalent of £23k in Aus... [/ QUOTE ] What you really mean is "In rip-off UK we pay Double and stand for it", where elsewhere they don't and won't. I am not a Vauxhall lover far from it and this is not a vauxhall, it is "Badged a vauxhall", debadge, supercharge and try.
