RobK
What would be considered "essential" options on a 335d M Sport Touring? My wish list currently consists of: Individual sun protection glass £270 Velour floor mats £75 Bluetooth telephone preparation with telematics £535 Front/rear Parking distance control £285 Professional navigation system £1,970 USB/audio interface £205 Xenon headlights £430 Front sliding armrest £110 Heated front seats £260 BMW service + maintenance pack - 3 years/36000 miles £940 Dakota leather - Black £995 Which comes to a rather eye watering £6075 worth. Would I be hurting resale too much if I cut the list down to: Individual sun protection glass £270 Velour floor mats £75 Xenon headlights £430 Heated front seats £260 BMW service + maintenance pack - 3 years/36000 miles £940 ..for a total of £1975? gizze
I would have that as a minimum too, I would drop service and maintainance though, It is so cheap anyway why pay it all up front. You need the L7 hi-fi too, awesome, awesome system.
Oli
I would think that youve hit the nail on the head with that spec. It is very similar to what I have ordered. I would say the bare minimums are; leather sat nav xenons bluetooth and USB On a car the price of the 335D, I think these are essential for the residual value. The other oprions are nice, but will just make it more saleable when you come to move it on, but doesnt add any value. And I agree with Guy on the service maintance pack. This is just as cheap if you get it serviced yourself at a dealer, and then get a good independant to get any maintenance issue sorted., in fact you ll probably save yourself money doing it this way. RobK
Thanks chaps. That's interesting about the maintenance. I'd assumed that you would be paying more than £300 a year for the servicing and maintenance on one of these. Guy, would you go for the L7 rather than amping up the standard system? gizze
Yeah, either go for the L7 or stick with the basic system. At least with the basic system you can get a decent amp and speakers put in with great results for very little outlay if you want. The Hi-Fi (mid) system starts to complicate things, you get an amp with it and that is about it, the subs are the same as the basic system and not brilliant. You also start to get the pdc and obc routed through the system too rather than seperate, so if you are not happy with it you are stuck.
pile
Personally i would delete the front parking sensors and add the DAB radio, you will notice that alot of the dealers are speccing their cars with DAB and its a nice option. Your above spec looks spot on , enjoy as i think the 335D has to be one of the best cars on the market at present : )
RobK
I suppose £285 is quite a lot. I thought I'd read that the DAB radio had problems holding onto stations though? Also come to think of it, is the sliding armrest actually worth having? What's the difference between that and the standard armrest?
gizze
You need the sliding armrest! You would be better to fit an aftermarket front parking sensor for £280.

[/ QUOTE ] we have the slding arm rest in the 330d and it is useful in an Auto. Are you sure that retro fit front pdc is the same price as factory fit Guy?
