TheEdge
Hi all, can anyone recommend Karcher pressure washer and lance all in for about £100 im not bothered about something too powerful as i dont want to damage any bodywork etc!! Also with creating the foam effect would adding two caps of autoglym shampoo create that effect? or do have to use more liquid or another brand of shampoo for the desired results thanks
RobA3
B & Q currently have an offer until this Thursday giving 15% off all pressure washers you can purchase a Karcher for £84.99, as with regards to the foam you will need to purchase a foam lance either a Karcher one for £14.99 from Halfords or one from someone like Elite. cheechy
You could always reduce the budget for the pressure washer to allow you to buy the lance from someone like Elite or Autobrite - the lances these guys do come in around the £45 mark but make the foam go on like a thick soup! drpellypo
The Autobrite lance is just stunning. So so so much better than the karcher ones, and you're neighbours will all be out wondering what's going on!
maersk
Second that. Autobrite is the ne to go for. Thanks to summer weather and a good foaming soak my car has not been touched with anything other than a drying towel since its arrival at the end of April
TheEdge
thanks for advice all Im definitely going with karcher read so many good reviews online is it ok to put in about 2 capfuls of autoglym shampoo in the foam lance container diluted with water? dogbucket
So although I have a Karcher, I never bother getting it out because I always have to go over the car with a wash mitt anyway. But, you are all saying if I cover it in snow foam I can just rinse off with no scrubbing and it will be gleaming?
maersk
ONLY in the summer, I suspect.
alexc
The custom lances do give better results than the plastic Karcher foam bottles, well worth the extra £ IMHO. By the way, the lances sold by Autobrite and ourselves all come from the same source!

I have some lovely spider webs as a result of doing just that! And it wasn't a really dirty car before washing either.
alexc
As long as you have a good LSP and the car is washed at least once a week and not tto dirty you can get away with a minimal contact wash.
johnss8
I always think that the key to a foam & wash is plenty of QD when drying
