Not remotely convinced I'm afraid.

To my eyes the proportions are inherently wrong - to get enough height in the cabin, the glasshouse has to be a bit too tall for the length & nature of the car. However, at the same time, in order to get that glasshouse up and down in a non comedy fashion, it becomes a bit too long for the car's length and so the boot looks truncated.

I think that if it ever happens, the 3 door 135i is the way to go 169144-ok.gif

Catastrophically ugly IMO. It looks like the bastard child of a Hyundai Accent/Vauxhall Belmont/Focus Saloon gang bang. Either that or it's the product of two drunk designers wrestling over the CAD software. I'm sure it'll be fantastic performance-wise but it's an aesthetic mess in my eyes (although not sure if it's quite as bad as the hatchback...)

I must say that I like the idea of putting big engines in small cars but BMW should have quit whilst they were ahead (if you can call it ahead) and stuck with the 3 door jobby. The coupe will make the 1 series even more of a target for ridicule than it already is.

The worst thing is the front, why oh why did they not address this with the facelift then I'm sure it would sell more. The car itself is good, I had one for a week and enjoyed it.

But then again I've got an X3 and a lot of people don't like that, so I guess it's horses for courses 169144-ok.gif
