BeakerBuddy
Hi All, Hope I can prey on your collective knowledge!! I've got a '53 plate S4 Avant and over the last few months I've had a recurring problem that has come and gone...now it's more consistently present. When I pull out of the drive in the morning I have to put full lock on one way the other to be able to drive off. I've been getting an increased whining vibration that remains evident whenever I'm at low speeds (less than 10mph) regardless of whether I'm turning hard or driving straight. I went to take it into a local specialist on one lunch break and it had totally disappeared. It's always there on my drive to work and rarely there later in the day. I appreciate that it's always hard to describe these things but any ideas??
Mook
It's probably your power steering pump bitching. They do wear, and given your car is a 2003 model with 50K miles (that's a guess), it's understandable. Try leaving it with your Audi specialist overnight and ask them to take a look the following morning when the car is cold.
