Wheels - Replicas w/correct ET, or OEM w/spacers?

I'm looking at wheels for the S2 of joy. I'm not a massive fan of replica wheels but thereagain I'm even less of a fan of spacers.

I can get replica 18x8 ET35 wheels or I can have OEM 18x8 ET43/45 and use 10/12mm spacers.

What's the best thing to do, as to not upset the handling too much?

TBH When I have used spacers in the past never really noted any difference to handling, my TT had spacers just so the wheels filled the arches better, no other reason, and never felt any adverse effects.

Is the S2 5x112? (its not one of the old 104/108 patterns is it?) The other option would be a nice set of BBS rims as these were quite often seen on Audis at the time. Some one like the OE crew would build you a set to spec - so perhaps run 10 x 18 at the rear? Colour could then be picked to retain OEM look, but bit more width in the rear?
