gtiller
I know this has been debated numerous times but I wanted a few fresh opinions please... I have a B7 A4 3.0 TDi Quattro with the tiptronic box. In SE spec it had 16 inch wheels, which have now been swapped out for 19 inch RS6 replicas. I am running Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres (hopefully the right choice, for someone that does a lot of motorway miles, and likes a quiet life) The wheel style and tyre make are the right size (for driveabilty/speedo calibration etc...) at 235/35 19, and were chosen with your recommendations - THANKS GUYS! However, the car fecking heavy at 1705Kg I think this is pretty similar to S4 Avant with Tiptronic Most people are putting these wheels on smaller displacement petrol engined/manual transmission cars which means 200 - 400 Kilos lighter in weight So what tyre pressures do you think I should be running at? Also, with such a big lump at front, what is the weight distribution like, and should the pressures be different from fron to rear (9 times out of ten, there are only ever two people in the car, with no load in the back) I am currently at 36 all round which seems OK, but I want to make sure I get the longest life/best experience out of them, and not over or under inflate! Cheers in advance...
Chav
Hi mate, I have an A4 3.0TDI q cab - 200kilos heavier than yours! I run 38 all round. depends on the tyre though. The A4 3.0TDI q is lighter than the S4 so its not that big a lump up front! Weight distribution is pretty good in the cab! - but it has extra rigidity on rear panels and roof mechanicsm and anti roll supports which are all heavy so that will help. Also keep petrol tank full and keep seats back - makes a difference!
Mook
You should run at the same pressures as you do with the stock wheels and tyres
Avus_Bub
If I were you I'd call or mail Michelin technical. They are the experts here. I've always found them to be very helpful. BUB
