So I've taken the DVD out of the DVD recorder and stuck in the DVD reader/writer on the PC but it says "no DVD" when I try to play it. Any clues? Ari Posted September 10, 2007 Author Report Share Posted September 10, 2007 Just tried that. It has that facility but unfortunately I've used a DVD-RAM and it seems you can't finalize those. CarMad Posted September 10, 2007 Report Share Posted September 10, 2007 You could in theory play it on the DVD player to a VHS and then back to a DVD-R or similar, you would lose quality this way but it might still be good enough for what you want to do with it. simkna Posted September 10, 2007 Report Share Posted September 10, 2007 To play DVD-RAM in a PC you need two things; 1) A DVD-RAM compatible drive 2) DVD-RAM compatible playing software. Ari Posted September 11, 2007 Author Report Share Posted September 11, 2007 Ha, bit of a result! The clip I wanted to record was on the late news too, so I got it onto DVD R. Put it into the PC, it saw it fine, and I've dragged the clip off onto the PC so that's good. Only thing is it's in an odd format (a sort of DVD format I suppose) so it won't play on Windows Media Player or whatever. Any thoughts chaps and chapesses?
