Mook
Michael - I know you're trying to find one of these, but pls can you avoid posting the same thing three times across cleaning, general marketplace and here.
EdR32
Only two really worth getting. Porter Cable or a UDM. Both available from autopia.com
Michael1984
thanks for the advice Ed
bcarter20
try these guys: http://www.thepolishingcompany.com/foryourcar.html they show machine polishers on the above page. When they do get the Porter Cable in I can vouch for it being a good machine for use by non professionals, I have one and have had excellent results from it. Rotary polishers can do the job more quickly but in the hands of a novice user can damage paint more easily than an orbital poisher like the Porter. HTH. jimmyp
We need Roy32 to come out of the woodwork, he is a dab hand at this polishing and buffing malarky. Might be worth dropping him a pm.
Michael1984
cheers bcarter20 yeah im going to order a porter, do these work in the UK, or do i have to get special connectors?
bcarter20
I think that the one that the Polishing Company are selling will be set up to work here in the UK without any adapters etc. When I bought mine a couple of years back you could only get US spec ones so I had to buy a transformer as well. Makes it less straight forward to use but it does an excellent job. Brian
JasT
I've got a porter cable. I ordered it from the US. I bought the transformer from Screwfix. It's a nifty bit of kit, although by the time you've bought all the bits you need you'll be skint!
Michael1984
yeah im just about to order one, but the pads and applicators are a bit confusing. will any pads fit these such as the meguier pads?
WHIZZER
yep megs pads will fit the PC ... When you order from autopia order the pc/ udm with a sfx kit and some spare pads , its worth considering the 4"pads and 2.5" backing plate too
