Luke
They're a very good looking car too. Loads round my way. Decent spec for the price, excellent looks, a real winner for Kia.
Tipex
You'd be hard pressed to find a toy it doesn't have, aside from some of the fancy wireless Internet stuff on BMW's that no one ever uses! Although saying that, the sat nav did have some kind of net type thingy on it, didn't explore further though.
rjgreen4
Right then, the car is amazing, sounds awesome and goes better than it sounds. Does anyone have any ideas on the best way of securely putting the following mut in the boot? i was thinking about one of these? Custom Dog Guards: Divider for Mercedes C Class Estate 2008 on, C Class, TDG1097D any thoughts
Luke
A dog in the back of your brand new car?! No way!
rjgreen4
The reason i bought the estate, x3 boys (7yrs, 2.5yrs & 1.5 yrs) and a weimaraner, otherwise it would be a saloon.
shao_khan
3 kids is one thing, but Weimaraner - you so brave, I doubt the x3 boys have enough energy to wear it out :D The dog gaurd you posted looks like the one our neighbours have, only they have a doggy bed in it as well, and the doggy bed is in a half size boot liner so that any spillages in the dog half stay in the dog half!!!! rjgreen4
Monty (the mut) has more staying power and energy than Mo Farrel he is relentless, however excellent with the boys.
Tipex
I love dogs, but dogs and cars don't mix. I've walked away from many used cars simply because they smell of dog, no matter what you do, as a non dog owner, I can smell if a cars had dogs in it! bazza_g
That 6.2 AMG block is something special, its a shame they will be extinct soon in favour of more eco-friendly 5.5 turbo units Riz :D Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!! Drinks
Love the new car, very jealous. We have travall dog guards in both our cars and they are great, very good quality if a bit expensive. Just checking you know that you have only linked to the divider, the dog guard is another £109! I would think you need both. That particular design looks like it has to be secured against floor and roof, that will leave marks....
Calm Chris
Why do you have the bowls for the dog on a raised frame?
rjgreen4
I was looking at the Mercedes one as its black, looked away when I saw the price of 500 pounds
billy2shots
Why do you have the bowls for the dog on a raised frame? Possibly to stop the dog pushing the bowls round the room, making a mess and scratching the floor. Just a guess.
NewNiceMrMe
Why do you have the bowls for the dog on a raised frame? Our dogs dowls are on a raised frame too, although it's like a little white plastic table into which the bowls are recessed. It's easier for the dog to eat without getting its ears in the food/water and stops the bowls shifting around the floor (and then getting kicked across the utility room). rjgreen4
Gun dogs are not supposed to eat off the floor and are supposed to eat in an elevated position. They apparently get bloated as they steam through their food in seconds. It's quite funny to watch
Calm Chris
Well, I didn't know that, all reasons are quite logical after your reveals. Bet it doesn't stop them farting...
rjgreen4
Apparently they cant go out for a walk or do any serious exercise within 1 hour after food as they are prone to twisted stomach's. He farts all day and they stink!!!!

Did you per chance tick the options box for the luxe rear climate control which I believe comes with the extra fart filtration system inbuilt!! garcon magnifique
Presumably that option is available because Mercs are often known to carry old farts in the back?

rjgreen4
800 miles done and the question is how durable is the black stuff on the wheels (and I don't mean the tyres). I mean the alloys, is there a should not use list for cleaning acids etc. I suppose you will not see the brake dust but they will still need cleaning.
eldavo69
Anything acid-free such as Bilberry wheel cleaner. I use an Auto Glym trade product that will be similar to their retail wheel cleaner an it is very good - and a lot cheaper than the retail stuff from Halfrauds. Ian_C
I only use normal bodywork car shampoo (Meguairs NXT Generation) on the S4 alloys, with Autoglym Super Resin Polish to remove stubborn areas. If you wax / seal them it makes them easier to wash, you need to 'scrub' them less which preserves the finish, so its a win win situation. How you are going to clean the inside barrells of those multispoke AMG alloys I have no idea.
Andrew
Seconded Ian. I wax/seal mine with the Poorboys stuff and all I need to go is go over them with the wash mitt with the same water and soap used for (after) the bodywork (Megs Gold). No scrubbing and limited use of Bilberry too.
