sachin
HI Guys I just bought a set of polished mirrors for my S3 on e-bay, all i got was the polished casing and did'nt get the black bit that goes underneath or the mirror. Could some one please help me and let me know if the bits will fit from my existing mirror such as the bottom black bit and mirror and also is there a fitting guide on how to put these on? Inside the mirror they have a date stamp for 2001 and it just happens mine is a 2001 Audi S3. Thanks in advance for your help. Cabvw
Mo-S3
Hi, the mirrors will fir your car without any problem, 1.Remove the screws from the lower trim and pull the trim away. 2. Now stick your fingers in behind the glass and pull forward gently. This will pull the mirror glass of its holder and enable you to remove the 2 wires attactched to the back of the glass for its heater. 3. Looking at the black bit insode you will see some small screws that hold the frame on to the outer casing bit. These need to be removed. You 'might' have to remove the screws holding the motor in as well but i cant remember if you need to. once you have done this you simply lift the old casing up and away from the mirror frame. Simply reverse the procedure above for the new housings. Overall its a simple job to do. I give it a Haynes manual rating of 1 spanner

JoeNobody
Indeed it is. You might find that you need some self-tapping screws to secure the housings. My original housings just clipped in place but my new housings needed screws. I had to get mine from the internet as the local hardware stores didn't have any that were short enough. Once I had the screws, it took me about 15mins to do both sides.
