Hi Iceblue, I was in the same situation as you,ie,going from a 2.8 to a S8,but mine is really a hobby car as I commute to work on a pushbike. Fuel connsumptuion on mine is about 16mpg,mainly round town,been on one 200 mile motorway journey when I picked her up and that averaged 24mpg. I was very happy with the 2.8,and even thought about keeping it and own both,but the S8 is so so so much better in every way,I wouldnt drive the 2.8,if I had kept it, as the difference is unbelievable,6 months later still enjoying every aspect of ownership. Hi,as the title says,looking for the generation 1 nokia phone holder for a S8 2002,the one that fits in the armrest.Had a parrot bluetooth fitted,which worked ok,but didnt like the fact that its not original fit,so removed it.I know its a bit old school etc,but as the car is a second/hobby car,not bothered about swapping sims or using divert from my main mobile phone etc.Prefered nokia 6310i Cheers Rich

Hi All, posting this on behalf of a mate who has bought a TT only about 6 weeks ago,private sell,and now has the symptoms of the dreaded DSG gearbox issues. The cars mileage is showing about 52K,but service history a bit vague,not had the gearbox oil and filter done at 40K. Early signs, were not changing gear that smooth,then went into limp mode,took car to Audi,who reset the computer,foc.Dont know what the fault code showed. Car drove ok for a handfull of miles,then limp mode returned and the orange engine symbol.Which is how the car stands now. Contacted Audi,they discounted the mechatronic box,saying the car requires a new box.possibly due to the original fault code? He has been offered a second hand box,from a 2008,4K ,TT but with a different code to his,his is GYU,the other is KQA.Will this fit per chance? Any ideas or pointers,location is Bristol, if anyone knows of somewhere to go? Many thanks Rich

Hi,if you go to the parkers website, it will tell you what you will pay for your car depending on engine size,date of registration etc,yours will be £245 at the most. As for the diagnostic port,on my 2,8 sport its under the ashtray under the climate control. But as from Sunday when I pick up my 2002 S8,I could tell you then for sure.But someone will be along shortly to confirm I expect

To test for drive by wire,while stationary,car in neutral,rev to about 2000 revs,then whilst keeping it at those revs,hit the brake pedal with your other foot and the revs should drop to idle.

Hi, Had exactly the same problem with my 2.8,it was the throttle body,common fault. It gets crudded up, and all it needs is a clean out. Didnt actually do it myself,so cant advise on best way etc,but due to its location at the back of the engine think it can be a little bit fiddly but certainly not a major issue. Hi, J P (Automatic Transmissions) the ZF parts specialists in Somerset,recommended, Bristol transmissions when I enquried about having the gearbox oil changed.I have to add I didnt use them,as I changed my mind in doing the oil change as the gearbox works fine,and reading on here,their is a slight conflict on this job,ie,if it aint broke dont try and fix it. But the chap who I spoke with, said if it was his car, thats where he would take it.
