Ben
Spotted an M3 on Autotrader last night at about £1k under list with 500 miles on it. Sure that won't hang around long. Linky

It's good to see that people are catching a cold on pre-orders that they want to sell on at a profit too. Hopefully it'll mean that only those who are in it for the experience get their orders. Merlot
A few points: -£58.5k is a high end spec M3. Mine is now £55k in final spec so £57.5k to me is still expensive. A perfectly fine spec for resale would be £53k; -Grey leather is not the best for resale; -That's a damm sight better than most new cars which drop 25% when you leave the forecourt; and -The premium market has gone. Everyone talks about how well the R8 is doing but it still only has a premium of £5k if you sell into the trade. PS If after a year my car trades at £40k then I'm fine as it will be worth £30k at three years - I can live with a drop of £8k pa for this sort of car. Ben
Perhaps I'll nip down the dealers and start asking for a discount It's just nice to see some reality creeping in! I like the grey Merlot, black/black is not exactly much of a contrast
Woppum
Do you think this could stop a CSL from coming out? I mean if the normal M3 is too expensicive how are they going to shift it?

I cannot see BMW UK resisting the urge to screw up the pricing on the E92 CSL exactly the same as they did on the E46 CSL. I personally cannot see how they won't price it at least 20-25% above the E92 M3. As a reminder (when new) the the E46 CSL was given a price premium of just under 30% compared to the std E46 M3 Coupe in summer 2003
Woppum
Yes but the carbon fibre roof is standard, the silly £2500 bumper shouldn't be used... Im not an expert but isnt there less money to throw at the E92 to turn it in to a CSL?
Ben
In the quest to make it conform to the "SL" part of the title, it should mean that the car goes on a diet. As they've already used carbon and plastic composites on the standard M3, BMW will have to thus push the boat further for any CSL launched. This will no doubt be where the money goes. I can't see how it could be any less than £65k. But if BMW do the Porsche GT thing and start offering Nav, sound packs, and comfy, heated seats etc, then the price will no doubt soar. All that money
