Mac
Right click your pic, open with, select the program you want and make sure you select the tick box to 'always use this setting/program' or similar wording. Sorry don't have an XP machine to hand to confirm wording but that's pretty much it Did you get my PM?
Calm Chris
Yes, did you get mine? The above works for each individual picture, but I have 10,000 odd and would like to apply a group approach rather than 1 by 1 There isn't an option to do the lot in one hit. davidhodgkinson
Are they all jpegs? If so, start up windows explorer select tools then folder options. then choose the file types tag, search for jpeg and re-assign it to windows picture & fax viewer (or what you want)
Hopsta
Macs way would work alternatively try... My computer -> Tools -> Folder options -> File types, then find the type you're looking for. Just search for your file type and change the program
Calm Chris
Thanks guys, thats all sorted now. Since I'm housekeeping any idea why the PC occasionally has issues with video? Once a month or so, when looking at you tube / films or pron, the films run at x5 speed. A re-boot resolves the problem but I'm curious to understand why the problem is ever there. As always, thanks. Hopsta
You need to see what it using up your resources, fire up task manager and see what's doing the hogging. If that doesn't find the issue then you're looking at doing some performance monitoring, not simple and takes time to setup.
