....You're obviously not up to speed on the plot developments - Things have changed and Elle is now a conscientous journalist and, of course, still being a lady who does things in style, has just got a Mk5 GTI. grin.gif

Sad to say I am up to date as its on in the office at lunch time as they arrange dinner time round it for the staff. Sad really and we got a nice quite short break from it when the BBC moved its slot. Until 5 put it back in its old slot. She still took his money wink.gif Lied about how she was going to die, does not ware a bra on the five neighbours advert etc etc does not come across as believable or a very good actor, a sad character. I also don't call 2 stories and parking in her bosses spot as a 'conscientous journalist'. You may have also noticed the lasiters(sp?) company cars are all Audi's and often VW group cars that are in vogue creep into the show the beetle did when it was the in car.

What the hell am i talking about bloody Neighbours for. smashfreakB.gifsuicide.gifsmashfreakB.gifsuicide.gif

That's it... the GTI has to go.

I was thinking there were now too many around here. Can't take a trip and not see at least five. But with the car being on Neighbours, well that's too much.

What was wrong with putting Elle (who ever she is) is a Mazda SP23 or a something like that? Why did they have to ruin GTI cred.

It's just TV 'soap' and is the only soap I watch if I'm around. I usually watch the lunchtime broadcast but if I miss it, the teatime repeat. It's the sort of prog that if you miss a number of episodes it doesn't matter. I used to watch "Dallas" but again I dislike the UK soaps such as Eastenders, Coronation Street, etc etc.

But why are people unwilling to admit they watch such telly? Are they concerned what their friends might think of them? Does the same apply to the car you drive? The 'wrong' image you feel you need to project? grin.gif

It's a cultural thing. I wouldn't be caught dead watching Neighbours or Home and Away (I had to stop for a minutes to think of the name). I don't know what it is - maybe its not a sufficient escape from reality for me. Afterall, Neighbours is produced about 10 or 12km from where I live in Melbourne.

On the other hand when I'm in the UK I'll watch some of your soaps. I can't follow Corrie, but have looked at Emmerdale, and Holby City and that sort of thing. Even here I watch the Bill on a pretty regular basis, and lst face it, it is one step removed from soap.

Still don't think the use of a GTI (even a slightly slower black one) does much for the image.

For me it's the less-than-pathetic-low-grade-acting and dung.gif story lines grin.gifwink.gif
