RedRobin
.... Great spot, drewcam! I don't like the rear of the Mk6 - It's too high compared with the front styling. Also, I don't like the fussy side strips. Nor the Audi-esque 'percieved-as-luxury' silver trim internally. Am still looking forward to a test drive though. @ Muppetboy - Got the Recaros at beginning of April. Perhaps I should post my review on TSN (as long as I'm not greeted with a maximum character count!).
JonC
That is a good spot; must be one of the first ones. It's been said before, many times, but the rear light clusters dull the back end and overall, it's nowhere near as stylish as the MKV. Like the twin pipes and loving the rear tints, though. Tarmac_Terrorist
Blimey good spot buddy - I guess that's a VW uk car as orders are only just being taken I believe. I thought I preferred the rear end of the new Golf but it does look a little bland from those pics. You have to look twice though to realise it's not a MKV from a regular glance. Drewcam
I guess that's a VW uk car as orders are only just being taken I believe. I did wonder that myself but i didn't know what to think when i saw the driver. He had the look of, well, how can i put it....big hair and shades like Tom Cruse wore in Risky Business Not Affro style but kind of big curls I pulled onto Motorway and could see it approaching from behind, realised what it was and thought best to get some pics
Tarmac_Terrorist
I suppose he could have been a journalist. Probably took it for a leisurely spin down the M6 and then wrote an article on how it handles around Millbrook

Snoopy
As someone who was very pro the mk6 im starting to go off it heavily. I think alot has to do with seeing lots of standard mk6s about and comparing the looks to our mk5 GTI (not really fair i know) Another reason is simply the price and what you can get a nearly new mk5 GTI for. So if anyone sees VW trying to clear stock of new mk5 GTIs at knockdown prices at there local dealer please let me know. As i think i will maybe go this route or nearly new. Muppetboy
VW UK can feck off, I just checked their website and a 5 door manual starts at £23k - 3 grand more than when I got my MkV. Add leather, nav, DSG and xenons (which I'd spec if I were getting one but I'm not) and a few more essentials and you're talking £30k. VW has lost touch with reality
mikemod
Just specced a DSG 3 door with Xenons, similar to what I have now, £25,
Tarmac_Terrorist
I've noticed that the flat tyre sensor is a £35 option now! Talk about penny pinching. I don't understand why they would cut a safety feature like that yet put in dark tinted rear windows as standard which is a very personal taste. I think if the folding mirrors, winter pack and flat tyre sensors came as standard kit then the price would begin to look more realistic. I appreciate the S3 is getting on a bit now and doesn't appeal to some but I wonder what you could get one of those for now after a bit of haggling? @ 260PS & Quattro. Hmmm thought evoking.....
