Mollox
How are people getting on with the battery? I use mine sparingly - maybe an hour of music a day, very few calls and it checks for emails every 15 mins or so. It comes off an overnight charge at 7:45am and then by 11pm its down to < 20% if not worse. Seems not good enough to me - is anyone else experiencing this? Biscuits
It seems like the 'push' or 'fetch' email is zapping the battery life, also having the backlight high seems to drain it a lot. I've not done it, but I bet if you switched the email and wifi connections off it would last twice as long. Problem is, this is why we all own an iPhone. The car has a cradle in it, so it gets a half hour top up too and from work, plus it's charging at home in a dock, so I'm usualy ok, but if you get to <20% your stuffed if you need to use it much. Mac
I get the same effect Molly. I find it's better if I turn off location services and 3G - I get a couple of days then. Push works just as well on edge. Pain if you want to start then using it for web browsing. It's a great phone - the battery life sucks monkey though. Mollox
What exactly are Location Services? Is that the stuff that finds you on the map? Also, why does it ask me if I want to allow I'm not sure who to know where I am when I'm taking a picture? I'll see what effect turning location services off has
Mac
Yes, it's assisted GPS. I rarely use it anyway so I don't miss it.
Ritey
All this and it was the battery life that stopped 3g coming out at first launch, can't imagin how pants it must of been
CarMad
Even on SE and Nokia's it can kill battery life. On my SE I can get a week out of it easily, turn 3G on and it's a few days. Its because is always hunting for a 3G signal that kills it, with normal 2G/GPRS its happy with a basic single. Your not selling me the iPhone at all with only a day of battery life though thats for certain.

tom_hargreaves
I had this problem, so I just turned off Location services and 3G and it's back to it's usual 2 days. Also tell it to fetch emails less frequently if possible. That extends battery aswell.
RobGTi
I have mine to fetch emails every 30 mins, 3G enabled, backlight on fairly low (although I never have trouble seeing the screen) and the best I have had out of the battery is just over 3 days, which I was amazed with. I think that was including only 5/6 hours of usage though. If you use it with wifi and browsing the web then charging is pretty much a daily routine though.
