billy2shots
Two Prices offered £13,000 up against a £26,000 M3 Convertible and £14,500 for £24,000 M3 Convertible.Whats annoying is the lack of interest shown in your car,yes I know it`s never really been any different i should know i`ve had plenty of dealings in the past. But I could not have let this one go as easily as I have before,it just looked so bright and new still, against the M3.The car itself is in mint condition, regularly waxed and de tarred, everything better than when was new. In white they look amazing, there is always interest from passers by.Have never known a car so many people glance at.Combinations to colour do make such a difference, but each to thier own.the silver GTI never got a look.................. I will give you £13k then you can knock them down on the m3 for cash
Mook
I have been very tempted to get one these last couple of weeks but the prices are a joke. You get the odd black one pop up for £10k but most are high 12's. Saw a low millege blue for over £14k. But there's a massive difference between what people are asking and what they'll be getting for them. £9K should see you being able to get a 2003 DBP with leather and average miles. clown
Is that all? Even with the options you have? Jesus.... Yes...............That`s what I thought..........So the M3 is on the back burner, not giving it away for so little..........Have always traded them in,Yes you get a lower price but it`s all conducted under one roof easy!! Because they are traded, and not being sold on by them I`m always going to be offered this low trade price.Still at least the ED30 / GTI dont require trackers and a fuel tank behind................. Cheers
Snoopy
As others have said not a good time to trade. You get nothing offered unless you have a small eco box on wheels that they can easily sell to a franchise dealer or to joe blogs. Performance cars, 4x4s, big execs dealers are simply not interested in as part ex's. And imo its not going to get much if any better in the future either. Cheers I agree; I've always done part-ex's for the ease factor more than anything else. What's more the satisfaction is more instant than selling privately as you get new for old quicker. Recently I've been toying with the idea of getting an Ed30 as they can easily be modded to the early 300bhp mark, which really floats my boat. However, given that the trade-in on my GTi will probably be equally as poor, I've gone off the idea. I intend to modify my car further, so every cloud has a silver lining
robe
^^ Jon - i gave exactly the same advice to my old fella a few months back. He had 56 plate R32 (lovely car, v low mileage) but wanted a trade to something with another 3 yrs of warranty, lower mpg and potentially lower future road tax bills. ie Pirelli GTI. I would have thought that there was no mileage at all talking to a dealer about a trade in but i was completely wrong. yes he got a bunch of "not interested" responses but ended up finding a dealer who WAS prepared to do a deal. Don't want to post the numbers, but they must have been very keen to sell a new GTI. The trade-in he got in the end was about £1000 MORE than i'd have suggested as a price for an ad on autotrader. Maybe they just needed one more unit to hit a target or something..

Mind you, that was a few months ago and I would hazard a guess that the moteor market has dropped like it has in the property industry, what with consumer confidence being so low, so now dealers may not be so generous? Worth a shot and I may call my local VW dealer to get his thoughts in any case.
