Yep, it was there at the end of March from memory.

I guess its a niche market he's appealing too, still pretty handsome performance from a 14 year old car though.

It just needs that someone who is looking for a truly cherished example, its been cared for exceptionally well by its current mature owner (55yrs of age+ I believe)

I know we don't discuss car values in the marketplace but he needs to come down a bit if he's serious about moving it.

Happy to pass ideas on price back to him, please PM me with a price you think it should be at.

He may listen, he may not, but I do know he is not desperate in any way, shape or form to sell it. I think he enjoys it too much to try and rush it away with a low price.

AMG 55 is like a barge compared to the RS2, despite the AMG having the record at the time for being the fastest production saloon when it came out.

Based on the condition of the car, I'd say £13,500 is a sensible starting price. Like Rob says, that's a proper collector's car, so it'll probably take a while to shift.

I agree that the AMG 55 is a very different car - my point was only that it was something with a higher original price, with a higher power, acceleration etc. etc. that is nearly 10 years newer and has done under half the miles and for a lower price....

I know that you can't always catagorise cars like this as the S2 has a cult following, but it does highlight that for what the car is, it is definitely overpriced.

It's an RS2 though - mega rare - and I don't think it's over-priced for what it is +++

Even so - that is :eek: stunningly overpriced.

I totally appreciate it's rarity and performance, but it is putting it in the firing line of these sorts of cars if you want an estate:

Auto Trader UK - MERCEDES-BENZ E CLASS E55 AMG 5DR AUTO

Now sold.

Not so stunningly overpriced after all. As ever, the right car will sell at the right price.

Mook - Bang on, it was indeed a reasonable starting price, and was sold for £5 under £13k
