My 30" Apple Display will run hi-def very well thank you very much 720p is only 1280 x 720, most modern ish monitors can do that resolution. 1080 is 1920 x 1080 - you may struggle with that on 'normal' monitors I think. Mac Posted March 20, 2009 Report Share Posted March 20, 2009 Well I guess it depends on how you view it. 1080 hi def is 1920 x 1080 so the whole image is 1920 x 1080. But if you have a 4" portion of the screen running at the same density then I guess it would be hi def. When you bang it on the plasma the 4" won't magically become the whole screen, it'll be the equivalent of the 4" portion of the monitor wouldn't it? I have a 46" Plasma and output to that using a PC to watch YT videos along with iPlayer etc and it's very good so I don't think you'll have any problem Dave, even on "SD" videos.
