DHA
Is there some new EU law mandating huge wing mirrors? The facelifted 3 series has been ruined by the massive wing mirrors and a few other manufacturers are following suit by fitting wing mirrors suitable for a transit van to their cars. Ruins them completely. Exhibit A (pre facelift E90) Exhibit B (facelifted E90) They look far worse in person.
Muppetboy
Worst offender is Lexus, I think it's the IS200? Everytime I see one I'm amazed, I'm surprised they don't act as huge air brakes!
techieboy
I dunno but it's a trend I'd like to see reversed. It's one of the things that really puts me off the current A4. The wing mirrors wouldn't look out of place on a Transit van.
Scotty
I've also noticed this trend. On the new A4 they're big but I wouldn't say they help any more as you just get more floor and sky. I was glad to see the 2010 A4 gets new mirrors but I've no idea what they look like. Surely they couldn't be bigger?
cruiser647
It's not as if many people use them anyway!
CarMad
I think it was mentioned before that they are indeed bigger because of an EU directive. We will all need to have the new driving lights in the future as well but I think thats a few years of yet but its coming.
SINGH
Noticed this too, had a new 3 series courtsey, would deffently retrofit the old models mirrors!

Tarmac_Terrorist
I'm sold on that Lunge! Can you fit 14" LCD screens in those wing mirror housings? That's a proper tradesman's vehicle.

Tipex
Can you imagine the look on the police officers face when he pulls you over for speeding, and you say "hold on a mo, I've just got to flip this steak"

Snoopy
If car makers would just stop reducing the visability out of windows we would not need van mirrors or parking sensors. I would rather have useful big mirrors than some of the tiny style over function silly ones of the past 10 years that are next to useless.
