SINGH
Nice.. It's nice to see a petrol powered C6 A6 for a change, how does this compare to the 535D you had?
Scotty
A question about the picture below : Are the silver/black things in the load rails the tie down points? I've the rails on my A4 Avant and that has fixed tie down points (which I can't see in your A6) so I'm wondering about whether I can get them to give me more flexibility. Andy_Bangle
Are the silver/black things in the load rails the tie down points? Yes, the black part is locked in place (but adjustable front to rear) and the silver part flicks up to give you a loop.

gizze
Nice.. It's nice to see a petrol powered C6 A6 for a change, how does this compare to the 535D you had? They are completely different. The 5 series eggs you on where as the A6 makes you waft round. The 5 series feels very firm and sporty and not really like an estate and really shrinks round you when pressing on, the A6 feels a lot biggger, still shrinks round you when you go for it, but not quite in the same way the 5 series does, and the A6 is a lot softer ride wise. It soaks up the poorer UK roads in a way the BMW never could, you obviously loose out in the corners and the roundabouts, but this is also why it makes you waft round instead of flooring it every where. Engine wise it is a tricky one, the remapped 535d was a fair bit quicker, but I do love the refinement of the 3.2 petrol, and it is very refinded in the V6 unlike the smaller 4 cylinder fsi engines I have tried. Still sounds tappety when you lift the bonnet, but that is the only time. There is something about a petrol, it has a smoothness you just don't get with the diesel. They are two very different cars, which sound absurd when they are both German, both the middle of the range executive models, both with a 3 litre engine, both estates, and both with the same amount fo toys, but they are both completely different. Both good but definitely aimed at different customers. Edited September 1, 2009 by gizze
