I bought some RS4 alloys from Ebay (genuine). The wheels came of a 2010 A6, when I tried to put the wheels on my A4 B8 sline avant they didn't fit. I had the centre hub on the wheels (which was 57mm) CNC machined to fit my A4 hub which is 66.6mm. I have them on they look great however i get a vibration on the sterring wheel after 60mph. I have had the wheels balanced twice at 2 different tyre garages but it is still there, can anyone advise what this could be? I did put a new tyre on the front off side and the near side has 3mm left. Back tyres had equally 5mm of tread, all continental contact sport 3. I have been researching this could I need spigot rings or 5mm spacers? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Chris

Ask them to take a look at the rim edge whist the wheel is on the balancer. You need to check for out of round or buckling.

Also look at the tread area of the tyre as it is spinning slowly to check for tyre distortion, I have had Bridgestones that have ended up out of true as the casing has started to fail.

The most common problem with this is the centering of the wheel - the fact that you've had them machined is the likely cause of the problem. Buying wheels with over-sized centers and then fitting spigot rings is the normal answer, but it obviously won't work in your case.

Don't like to say this, but what Andy's said above is probably the right answer - buy the right wheels first time :(
