Riz, how much did they use the car on the day? Did you get some memorable items as reward for use of the car?
Wooohooo I haven`t seen it yet... will buy a few copies tomorrow :)

It was a pretty dull day down at Silverstone, I was there about 4 hours and we did various shoots etc, it was nice to meet the other owners and the editor.

I should be getting all the pictures from the day and all expenses paid etc.

I have been cheeky and asked for a good subscription offer/price.

Wait to here back.!

I`m well chuffed, it`s not everyday you see a old car in a new issue of a car magazine.

Made me look up on pistonheads how much an R32 would be now!! It reminded me of when I got my new one 8 years ago. Latest copy might not be out on general sale yet, the subscription comes out earlier.

Agreed on both counts - I still remember picking mine up from the dealer and driving it off the forecourt. I'd love to have a mint one like Riz's tucked up in the garage or buy a tidy one and then go bonkers with a turbo or supercharger conversion :D

General sale for Evo is Feb 2nd +++

Thank you everybody for the kind words!

It was a good opportunity to get the original MK4 in a magazine..... don`t get these chances often!

I point worth noting is that I didn`t clean or have the car cleaned for the shoot, it was terrible actually but they were using a sponge and dirty rags to quickly clean the cars up for the shoot, obviously I objected as ermm well it could have easily made marks on the bodywork :D

EVO were really cool about this and I must admit both the photographer and editor were professional in what they were doing, they had comic-type story pictures for the shots they wanted etc.

It was nice to stretch the cars legs too as it doesnt really get much use.....

Riz :)

That's the sad bit. I'd much rather look at a car that's been used properly than one fresh out the crate. I'm sure yours is in exceptional condition for it's age and I'm afraid I just find that a sad thing rather than a joyful one. It's great to have a car in great nick but what's the point. It's like when people buy motorbikes to hang on their walls as works of art (yes they do!).

It could be just me though..... :bike:

p.s. and I know it was a different car and a long time ago but you're still not forgiven for ducking out at Oulton Park! :P:grin:

I know what you mean, I do use it more in the summer than winter, might use it more in the future who knows.

Well yes I did duck the Oulton Park trackday really well.. but I was selling the Audi S3 so didnt want to track it

It was a very nice event and I still remember Andy`s noggy RS4, that was mental!

Riz :D
