To Ashleywater - suprised you've stuck with it to be honest. I would really like one of these and truly find my S3 hard to replace and would jump at this if it wasn't for the price and circumstances but hey hoo each to their own.

Just to think to wait for this long for just this car... man i hope it is REAL FECKIN GOOD..!!!!!

Looking forward to honest, personal review.

S3 is IMHO a serioulsy underated car, as it really does everything exceptionally well, probably why we are on our third one (The better halfs)

So the RS3 was a natural progression I guess.

I have looked and driven a lot of other cars, due to the wait, would have gone for a 1M, but after driving one, I can see the appeal for some, just not for me.

EVO again I can see the appeal, again not for me.

So I have bitten the bullet somewhat and hung in, however if this car, is not any good, beliieve me I will be first to say so, I have only had a brief drive in one, and iI was sufficiently impressed to wait for my specced car, however as I have learnt in the past, test driving a car and living with it day to day, are two completely different things, and you rapidly tire of the initial buzz of some cars I could mention out there

TBH the S3 didnt grab me by the shorts when I first drove one, but what a great car to live with, and a car that seems to losen up and get better the more miles you put on it, much the same comment applies to my current Golf R, and it will be a real wrench to let it go, in fact after sitting in the cab of an RS3 last week, and comparing driving position, seats etc, it became more of a tough decision, but hey ho, onward and more brassick we go

If anyone is interested in a nicely specified unregistered RS3 pics & info below, call Audi Sinclair 01656 660123 ask for Martin Parsons, genuine car enthusiast and great bloke to deal with, just posting these, as they went to the trouble of sourcing this car for me, whilst I have been waiting for my infamous Suzuka Grey order

For such a 'rare' car they come with some pretty sizeable discounts.

Well I have to admit, if you know anyone giving discounts on these Andy, please share info, as it always makes good ammunition when trying to secure a deal.

I couldnt get a dime of this car when I asked about discount, and I buy a lot of vehicles of this particular Merc/VAG group dealers, both private and commercial, and all the non dealer registered cars I have seen advertised, are all above list, some well above, and all the other Audi dealers I have spoken to wont consider any discount whatsoever

Well for anyone who is actually interested, I guess there must be a few left out there, paint is being applied to my RS3 today SIARI There again there is nothing trustworthy or even slightly reliable where this model is concerned, when info is requested

hopefully this is Suzuka Grey in colour, but who knows, it has taken them 15 months to get around to actually building a RHD Suzuka Grey car, so nothing would surprise me anymore, so this is supposedly the first SG Colour RS3 to arrive in the UK, but that doesnt make the ultra wait, any harder to swallow

So champagne corks at the ready, I might actually see the car, sometime in April, probably April 1st before anyone comments!

Having recently picked my own one up after a 15 month wait, trust me, you will not be disappointed, it is a fantastic car!

Pistonheads have driven it and seem to rate it. Review Driven: Audi RS3 Sportback

Couple of points I would make - the ride is actually quite firm - those standard 19" wheels with 235/35 front and 225/35 rear shod with Continental Sport Contact 5+ mean it can be jiggly on uneven country roads. Grip is very good however which makes up for the firm ride.

Most drivers don't seem to know what it is which makes it quite stealthy.

I hope you tell them where to poke it when it finally arrives, and pull up to the garage in a BMW instead!

That actually sounds like an immensely good idea T, unfortunately it wouldnt be a beemer, maybe something like an MP12*&))EagleIthrust33GGHL McClaren would be better, the more expensive the better, just thinking where you could hire one? Anyone got any ideas, could kill two birds with one days rental, p1ss off the stealer and see what it drives like, sounds like a plan

Don't think rolling up in a McClaren buggy would be that impressive. If you were to turn up in a McLaren that would be much more impressive +++

Bizarre phone call from a very good existing client this afternoon: I can't decide between an RS3 and a Steinway John Lennon upright piano.

What??

Yep. £40k for an upright piano which would cost more to insure than the car.

The only reason the car won: Piano was going to be put in an orangery and client was advised that the change in temperatures and humidity would harm the piano. Some people have more money than sense!

Anyone know where I can find a white RS3? Got Aliaudi on the case looking for one as well.

Eastbourne/Brighton Audi had an unsold white one in stock, but I've not seen it in the lock up for a couple of months so they may have sold it.

They do have a red one, strangely it's not listed on the site as an RS3 for some reason, just an A3 2.5 T FSI quattro S Tronic, and it's got the **** wheels with red bits in too.

Is there any info on this?

I don't see what info you need. After launch the car became available with 6 wheel options. Of these 6 wheel options, 2 were no cost i.e. the standard wheels which are 19x8J in titanium finish and the same wheels could be specified in high gloss alloy wheel finish as a no cost option. All the other wheels were extra cost. Manufacturers have the right to change the spec and add extra options - it is in the small print. If they remove a spec which affects your order then you normally have the right to cancel/change the order. In this case they added extra options.
