DanG
I will admit that I am quite taken with them, always have been, and have just bought another Porsche this week, and now own three, albeit with one sitting at the port of Los Angeles at the moment and missing an engine and gearbox.... More to follow on that in the weeks to come. Now, I am confuse though about the waving thing. When I drive the green car, everyone waves, 997, 996, 993 etc etc usually thumbs up or a cheery wave, other impact bumper cars flash lights, its a nice thing to do. Recently I have been using the 987 Boxster, and have also had a fair few waves from the more modern machines, today for instance I saw a couple of 997 and a 996 Cabriolet, all of whom waved. I failed to wave at any of them.... So what's the score here? Wave at everyone? Wave at the modern cars only? Does anyone else do this?
rottenbend
Sorry but I'm a snob - I wave at air cooled only (unless they wave first)
NewNiceMrMe
When I owned a Mazda MX-5, other MX-5 drivers nearly always waved. 99% of the time I'd say. In fact it was common for them to come over a chat to you if parked up somewhere. I once found myself in an impromtu mini-meet when 3 MX-5's were in the same car park in Sandsend. We talked for a good hour and they were nice people too. Got to say I miss those days. Stunning drivers car and in MKI form the other drivers were always pleasant. My brief foray with an MG-F VVC yielded a few waves too, but nowhere near as many. In the BMW's the only waves I've ever had haven't been complimentary. They don't look like traditional waves anyway. eldavo69
I wave or flash 993s and older, 996 and 997 drivers don't know what a 944 is I don't think! I tend to get a flash or wave from the odd Boxster too.

I sincerely hope that when it's finished you're going to add a cage and a fire extinguisher and enter it in the Porsche Open series. Just putting it on the road would be a sacriligious waste. DanG
Bolt in half cage is the plan. That way I can have it in for track days and out for touring through Europe for more luggage space. Rear seat delete though.
garcon magnifique
That sounds like the perfect compromise.
