I would never go to MIJ performance ever again and i recommend that no one use's them - if you buy and exhaust or any part of them and it breaks they will not issue a replacement even though mine was only a few months old. They should be ashamed to call themselves a company - i will only give them bad reviews to other people like i am doing now - if you want a proper exhaust which has been stress tested etc for your car go to a reputable manufacturer NOT these cowboys bending metal in a hope it works and when it doesnt they turn there head. Also never buy a sports cat off them as the quality is unbelieveable poor. I hate being ripped off and told to bugger off.:ffs:

Please post your 'dealings' with them so that this thread will be seen underneath there website. Thanks

I may be wrong, but do Mij make custom exhausts? as in they hand make them for your car, rather than using pattern parts from the like of Miltek, Scorpion etc?

If so, did you you check out what warranty they offer on these exhausts before you dealt with them? and if they are not honouring the warranty, it might be beneficial to explain why, I would assume they have given you a reason?

Personally, on the many forums I've been a member on over the years, I've only ever heard of people who are happy with them.

I used MIJ in 2008 for a quad exhuast on my old D2 4.2 A8, it sounded and looked great. One side of the exhausts became out of alignment after a few months, they told me to pop down and sorted it for me free of charge, no quibble, and offer a lifetime warranty. Overall, I was happy with MIJ.

As above, joining a forum to complain about a company only works if you provide enough information to back up what you are saying.

Our very own Shark has experienced a couple of similar negative threads on a couple of forums, but actually ended up coming out of the threads very well, so they backfired for the OP.

Hi everyone. I must say that i agree with the first person on this thread. I went to MIJ Performance on 31/05/12, I booked in as you would to have a decat pipe fitted to my 330d M sport. To be told by the manager that it would be best to remove both cats from my car so i agreed and paid more for both cats to be removed, I got there at 1:30 pm and said i needed to be back at work as soon as poss due to having customers coming to see me at my own business to be told no problem it wont take them long. As 7:15 Pm when i left i had already lost business and let my customers down. So it took a total of 5 hours 45 min which was too long. The best part is i fitted a new turbo the day before so it shouldnt take long to strip down as all bolt were new and only just fitted. When i went into the workshop to check progress after been there an hour no one had even started it. Then they came over to start and the lad taking the sump guards off didnt know anything he couldnt speak english so i had no communication with him at all as to what he was doing? Also then the other lad who was making to de-cat pipe came over and couldnt take the cat off the car so (i had to remove the bolts from the turbo?) Professional?? I removed the bolts then let them carry on then to be told the car only has one cat so i asked the manger he said don't worry you've had enough labour for what you have paid? What i took the pipe off myself? Then he said that the to cats further down the pipe where sports cats and don't need removing?? Never heard of this before. Maybe there not cats i'm not sure but will be looking into it. So far i've paid for 2 cats to be removed and only had one removed? Once the job was done they couldn't remember how all the heat shields went back on so again i had to help its now 6pm and the manager had gone home? I also had to fit the engine covers again myself as they couldn't get them to line up and get the alan bolts to fit. Also i was going to sell my old cat on ebay but they had to cut the flange off it and use my old flange to fit to my new de-cat pipe so now my old cat is only worth weighing in. Why cant a professional tuning company make a new flange? They are supposed to be professional? This is not a professional outfit i've used many professional tuning company's for my cars in the past and never have i had to most of the work myself using other peoples tools. Which half of them were no good. I will not be going back again as i felt the job was not done right and i have little gains in power. I am now booking the car in for a rolling road to see if its right also the manager said on the phone he needs to plug the car in when its done to check the turbo is not over running which was not donw as they had all gone home and just me and the 2 lads where left at the end. I will get it checked out some where else and if its not right i will post again.

Thanks

Hmm, I wonder if eddie1872 and 330bmw are close mates.

To register on a forum as a new member and immediately launch into such a 'warning' as a first post sounds to me like someone on a mission. Irrespective of whether what you are saying is true or not, why should anyone here believe you? We don't know you from Adam.
