Chris Harris was positive about it too.

Says its a return to fun as opposed to uber power, which I can relate to.

Although positive about it he said buy a 2nd hand Cayman with the money.

I think it will be a good seller for Toyota as reviews have been very positive. Interestingly not heard too much promotion about the BRZ.

Or was it buy the Toyota with a warranty? Can't remember, I'll have to watch it again.

I wouldn't buy an 05 Cayman, as good as they are. Too many stories of engines going pop due to IMS bearing failure.

Knowing my luck....

me too, Cayman of that age would be expensive to keep running whereas the Toyota would be relatively stress free.

Read some doom mongers saying plugs are a nightmare to change because of the boxer configuration but not read any official service information or costs.

That's what Service Centres are for............

I don't rate the advert that much, getting back on topic. Don't know why, but it just doesn't grab me.

Subaru doesn't need to spend too much advertising the BRZ - it'll be available in smaller numbers (over here at least), and they already have a healthy order book.

It's been interesting to read the motoring reviews. The differences between the BRZ and GT86 are very small, really limited to slightly different suspension set up, but they seem to have divided the press. Top Gear love the BRZ, Evo aren't so sure and prefer the GT86 even though they admit the BRZ is probably the better choice if you prefer pointing forwards to sideways.

I like the concept of the ad, but I'm not sure why you have to drive like a loon to enjoy a nice car?
I like the concept of the ad; it's different and the CGI's are amazing. Driving within the driver's limits in as safe environment as possible makes for fun driving in a nice car.
yeah it's been on the TV a few times over the last couple of weeks
I don't watch much TV, Bob :coffee:

Glad to hear that there's a turbo option; tuneable options ahead. On looks, I prefer the GT86 over the BRZ, but would reserve judgement until having driven both.

Subaru are selling the cars here only online - and they are all gone...

I've seen a couple of the Toyotas on the roads - and followed a red one in my red (bigger) one about 3 weeks ago - the guy test driving it (dealer plates) was obviously having a hoot. It sat very nicely on the road too.

The turbo option is definitely a case of aftermarket mod at the moment. There were rumours of higher output factory models, but they've all been denied.

There could be an STI version of the BRZ, but that seems more likely to concentrate on adding more lightness and maybe only a little more power.
