Cuprabob
Really enjoyed tonight's episode although found the rugby a,bit boring. That Arden Blue VXR even ticked my "inner chav":-)
Andy_Bangle
Pitch about to be relaid anyway, and ex-development/test cars headed for the crusher. That! The pitch was relaid last June with a ‘Desso’ pitch (mix of artificial fibres entwined with real grass) which ties in with launch of the new Cee'd 8 months ago (plus the shitty GB summer weather). patently
(plus the shitty GB summer weather) I think you'll find that's a annual event?
cruiser647
Is pitch relaying an annual event as they do in Cardiff?
garcon magnifique
I would guess not. Main reason it's annual in Cardiff is it doesn't get enough air (or sunlight for that matter...)
m4ttm4son
Sunlight isn't always a problem. Emirates has it's own sunlight lamps that they sit on the pitch to help it grow. Might be cheaper to relay it every year though.
garcon magnifique
The pitch at the Emirates is helped by the big steaming pile of manure it sees every two weeks. Badum Tsh! I'm here all week.
theduisbergkid
I watched Ghostbusters with the kids instead. Great film. Did I miss owt ?
Andrew
Not masses - better than the USA episode. Where are the bloody supercars though? There is a new M5/6, 991, F12, Agera R and probably loads more.

Tipex
Did I miss owt ? Yes, one of the biggest revelations in motoring history in fact! Vauxhall, have finally, after all these years, made a hot hatch that actually goes around corners! It doesn't get any bigger than that.

Cuprabob
I believe the times to be real but I do expect the driver gets enough time to practice and do a time that's in line with what they want to portray on the show. The Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz season finale springs to mind as being a total set up. I understand that LH was using V-Power whereas everyone else had to use Asda 95. Still entertaining though

Tipex
Wasn't that Focus ST fecking ugly!Wow, that was bad! The Vx did look good though! Can't honestly say I think any of the three are very good looking, but the Focus is probably worst of the bunch yes, it didn't look much better on 5th Gear last week either! I'm a bit surprised about all the torque steer comments as well, Ford should know better, why didn't they just put the revo-knuckle thing from the previous gen Focus RS on it? VRO6MO
What I dont get sometime is when they compare these hot hatches, why dont they include other makes VWs, Audi, Seat, etc.?
cruiser647
What I dont get sometime is when they compare these hot hatches, why dont they include other makes VWs, Audi, Seat, etc.? If it was me looking to buy that type of car, if I was looking at the ST or Megane or VXr, then I'd find it unlikely to consider the 'next quality' step up in model. ie Golf R, S3. They also add about £8K to the price I think??? So that is a massive lift and a different price sector.
Andy_Bangle
Not the greatest Pagani review but man alive, didn't it shift - it didn't look like a 1:13 lap to me. It seems that when Richard Hammond was driving the Huayra – and concluded it was a stunning car, as you would expect – he was running on the regular P Zero tyres – the ones customers get on their Huayra – but when the Huayra was given to the Stig to do a power lap the tyres were switched to Zonda R tyres that had been pre-cut by Pirelli to set as fast a lap as possible. :znalika: Make what you will of the subterfuge, but the lap time for the Huayra should be removed until the Huayra does a lap on the Pirelli Pzero Corsas. Either that, or they let every car maker back to Dunsfold with specially crafted tyres to set a new lap time. I know which is easiest. Also, Pagani has decided that they weren’t charging enough for the Huayra, so Horacio Pagani has been busy with his abacus, plucked a few nice sounding numbers out of thin air, and come up with a new price for the Huayra – an eye-watering, near as makes no difference, £1 million plus VAT. That’s up by around 25 per cent on the Huayra’s launch price and puts the Huayra at least £250,000 more than the new McLaren P1 and more expensive than the new Ferrari too. Andrew
Didn't Chris Harris talk about all manufacturers (top end) setting their car up for specific tests? Perhaps not much different to the Koenigsegg wing that was added that time.
Mook
I think Koenigsegg just took the car away and fitted a wing. Ferrari, however, typically send a team of engineers to set the car up etc for whatever test is going on. Like that has a link to reality for driving a normal car
