Free (Sky) Wireless Connector if you have Sky Movies

My wife forwarded me the Hotdeals UK link and within that was this direct link:

http://www.sky.com/quickbuy/deeplink?addToBasket=ANYTIME_BRIDGE_WIRELESS_11N&custype=EC&deeplinkToOrderSummary=true&level2Offer=1MFSKYMOV

Here is the HotDealsUk one:

Free Wireless Connector to existing customers who ALREADY have Sky Movies - Hot UK Deals

I simply logged into my Sky account online, clicked on "my package" and there was a list of things to do such as get one of these free, get Sky Go etc etc.

Hope this helps.

I ordered mine last night and had the order confirmation through.

Sky for me is a necessary evil as Virgin Media, for whatever reason, doesn't stretch to the end of our road - I think Sky know this so I've no bargaining power despite paying £94.25/month since the introduction of SkyHD! They even tried to charge me for a new HD box last year when my original one packed up, that I did object to strongly!

Wow. That process reminds me how much we spend on Sky each month, when you get to the "Check out".

I'm not sure I consider it free now.:roflmao:

I've no idea what it is I'm getting by the way. I just did it because you said it was free and I felt like being a freeloader.

Me too - particularly as my sky box is wired to the ethernet switch behind the media wall :P+++

Me three considering I already have a third party wireless dongle hanging out the back of my Sky box!

It just means i'll be able to connect the TV too, I mean, how many different ways of watching iPlayer do I need in one room?

Tv

Sky box

Laptop

Phone

Playstation

Etc

Mine just turned up, so thank's very much for providing the link and info, much appreciated. +++

Looks like a fairly decent bit of kit, my only criticism would be that it is mains powered rather than USB so needs an extra plug socket, but not really a problem.

I thought you could watch what you had recorded onto your Sky+ box anywhere?

Probably got that wrong.

Basically - will it let me watch Game of Thrones, series 3, whilst in London? (given my main house with Sky is in Bath).

In a nutshell, no.

Sky go allows you to watch Sky Channels on a mobile device, but not recordings you have on your Sky box.

This enables the on demand content that your Sky+ box is capable of when connected to the internet.

Most popular shows are now available on demand, along with Iplayer, ITV Player etc, and most of the films on box office and the movie channels, as well as a back catalogue of popular stuff, and it's all free (except the box office films).

Got mine yesterday and hooked it up. Sky box has just got way more useful! But why of why of why does it need to be connected to a phone line to use Sky Store? Surely they can do authentication over the web? So annoying because the phone line is other side of the house and there's absolutely no way I'm letting sky stick a load of metal tacks in my wall and up my door frames. They had done that in old house and it looked horrid.
