Vw golf mk4 whining droning noise on full lock

Hi i have a mk 4 golf gt tdi 130bhp car which drives very smoothly until you put on hard lock for example and when you pull out of a junction say left or right it makes a whining droning noise until you straighten the car up.

Wanted to find out if it was:

A) CV Joints

B) Drivershafts

C) Wheel Bearings

D) Another problem

Ideally i would like to find out what it is before i shell out a load of cash on buying parts

Can anyone help on this issue??

Check the power steering fluid level.

Could be the PAS pump on it's way out. full lock is when it's under the most load.

I had a Laguna years ago with a power steering fluid leak, made a deep groaning noise on full lock when the fluid needed topping up

That sounds like the alternator pulley bearing. Mine did that. Was an cheap fix.

Power steering fluid, belt, pump - check them all in that order

There's a whining, droning noise coming from Golf too. It's because I never bought the driver another handbag.
