Cuprabob
The deal is done BBC Sport - MotoGP: Cal Crutchlow leaves Yamaha to sign for Ducati Only history will dictate if it's a mistake or not but he will get a few bob out of it. I just hope he negotiated a bit extra for them mucking him about last year. Edited August 1, 2013 by Cuprabob
burble
I know he wanted a factory ride but that doesn't seem like a great move. Rossi, Hayden & Dovi have all failed to do well on the Duke and as much as I'd like to see Cal excel I can't see it happening.

I was going to put it in that thread and then decided it was worthy of it's own thread. Weren't you picking up the HP4 today?
Mort
Put yourself in his position. he's out of a ride next year and he has a (presumably) high paying high profile 2 year contract with Ducati as the only (probable) option on the table at this time... I know what I'd do. Take the money even if the bike is shite. Another aspect is the distinct prospect that Marquez will win the next 10 MotoGP championships (if he fulfills his potential) . Would have been nice to see him on a proper bike though. Cal on a works Yamaha would have been awesome but reality stinks sometimes....

Cuprabob
Let's hope for his sake Ducati don't get their act together next year. Sadly, he's not going to get another factory ride but at least he made some money at Ducati.
Luke
I don't see Ducati doing much for a while yet.
Cuprabob
To be fair Dovi has done relatively OK on it as has Iannone on the satellite bike. Sadly, I think Cal peaked at Tech 3 and is destined to follow in the footsteps of other British riders and return to WSB/BSB Edited August 2, 2014 by Cuprabob
Scotty
That's what I fear to. I hope he gets on top of it and shows what he can do but I don't think he will. Dovi's done much better than I expected.
Busby
So is the Suzuki option off the table for Cal now? I don't think he would have done anything there with them being newly back into the sport but it would have been another factory ride. If he goes to LCR then I can see him matching his performances at Tech 3 - just have to hope that a year of being battered by the Ducati hasn't got inside his head.
