Michelin Pilot SuperSports - C63

 This week the time came for a new set of boots for the C63 so after some shopping around Event Tyres turned up and, very carefully, stretched a full set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport shaped rubber bands over the matt black 19" AMG alloys. Initial impressions are good, road noise is no different to the previous Conti's and the wet performance feels sure footed enough to keep me happy. Will update this thread again when I've got a few miles on them - hopefully, maybe, perhaps I might even get the chance to try them out in the dry.... if it EVER STOPS RAINING

I love them in m3. Rears lasted about 15k miles, fronts still going . Even after taking it on track the tyres were in great nick. My 458 after same amount of laps on conti's were in a much worse state....on a much lighter car. Can't wait till conti's wear out so I can put decent rubber on it. Interested to see how you get on with them.

:)  Thought it was abot time to have a bit of a update on this. Firstly I've been in the country and secondly, praise the lord for some dry weather!

For Rachel - have we managed to send some of that rain down your way? The previous Conti's were good enough but never felt super confident when pushing on, especially in the wet - the new PSS you can really lean on when even when its hammering with rain, and we've had plenty of that! My route to work (35 miles each way mix of urban/motorway driving) has quite a decent variety of cruising and 'quick road' driving so its simple enough to compare apples with apples. One other thing is that I've not had any aquaplaning so far, the Contis were quite partial to a bit of that! *squeak*

The sun coming out and the chance to generate some heat has opened a whole new lease of life, am a very happy man - though with every mile added I become slightly poorer due to its love of V-Power. Given how grippy they feel it will be interesting to see how long they last, though if they lasted 15k miles on Woppums M3 I doubt I have much to worry about lol! Really can't wait for Le Mans in a couple of months to give them a real hammering on the roads down to Le Sarthe +++

Noice. It's a toss up for me as to the Michelin PSS or Advan V105s as replacement for the Continental Contisport 5Ps on my C63.

Just hooning home this evening in patchy road conditions the new V105s on the R36 are way better than the Contis.

Please keep us updated on how they wear (how fast? do they get noisier? do they get harder?), and of course enjoy wearing them out.

Will Do - quite fancy a set of PS Cup 2's next but I need to find out more about sizes... +++
