A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed. Politics should be about taking your time and making a good decision, not being able to perform at an interview and making snap answers there and then. I would prefer to see an interviewer raise 10 questions, send them to all of the parties, and then see all 10 answers the next day without people arguing or trying to get one over just because the other party has a different view. That Paxman thing the other day where he asked Tony Blair the same question 20 times or whatever, what a load of rubbish, Blair did well to stand his ground and not give a figure. I think Paxman is a complete tosser for doing things like that. Why not say "Ok Tony, could you possibly come back with an appxorimate figure for us tomorrow so we know the scale of the issue?". The PM can't be expected to remember every fact and figure, and even if he could, he would do well to double check his figures before making a statement on TV.
