foz01
Rs4 driver aint all that clever though! especially if he had a LOT more power than the M3......
Woppum
How much power does the RS4 actually produce, in bhp and torque, and what is the 0-62 time? Also is that M3 the old or the new one, i get confussed with the numbers.
Brabus
I still wont open, does it work for you guys then? An E46 is the current M3. RS4 produces a standard 380 bhp. Standard 0-60 is about 4.6, I think.

Still a big leap to the Audi though. The weight has to be taken under consideration, the Audi must be heavyer than the M3. I have driven the M3 and they feels bloody light. Also I bet the Avant would have more trouble on the track than the saloon, the M3 felt like it was built for the track. I was suprised that the M3 handled so well compared to the Audi considering the Audi is 4 wheel drive, i suppose the 19's on the BM helped though... Blue
does a normal M3 also have those vents in the bonnet? could this be a CSL?

The M3 is a very nice car, but like its been said many times before it all depends on what you want! And in the wet you know the RS4 would give the M3 a good run for its money! CARACTERE 007
umm the rs4 needed a clean!.....put it down to a reduced drag co.efficient!!!......
Mac
The RS4 on paper should stamp all over an M3. It doesn't. Even in modified trim its pretty close. The thing thats really surprising though, and this is difficult for me to say, driving the M3 is the motoring equivalent of an anaesthetic. Its boring compared to the 4 It doesn't 'hit' you with speed, it doesn't feel like you're pushing it etc. Dunno but I know its a damm capable car, far beyond that the specs give it credit for. I'd think twice about doing it at the lights even now with my 4s 0-60s. Mind you, at the second thought I'd be well in front
Mac
By the way, I meant difficult cos the RS4 in std form is as boring as a boring thing. Understeer understeer understeer anybody.....

Mac
Yeah maybe...But I test drove an M3 and I didn't find it fun, at all. Didn't seem fast, didn't seem to handle particularly well. Both thing I *know* not to be true. I'd rather drive a car that felt fast and had fun handling rather than the opposite. I could have bough the M3 I was looking at and walked away with plenty cash in my pocket. I'm hardly a great fan of the RS4, especially in standard trim, but the M3 just didnt do it for me - even the noise wasnt as funky as I expected. It just felt flat!! And hey, I could be wrong, and normally am - but I don't think I'd trade a '4 against the M3 in spite of the savings to be made.
Brabus
Yeah, it sounds really dull. Dull-sounding M3

Mac
...and that certainly didn't sound like the one I test drove. Well not from inside anyways. You pays your money you takes your choice don't you? For 30 odd k its a craking motor. Doesn't float my boat though. Mind you, nor does the '
Brabus
LOL! I cant believe you're so blasé Mac! I think you need to get your Porsche Turbo and get it out of your system
Mac
I would and I was gonna, but then I decided being unemployed was more fun I don't drive much, so I can be choosy I actually, believe it or not, want a VX220 turbo - after watching one @ CC. It rocked
Bushy
I have seen this video before, thats Carl driving the RS4, not to much standard there and only got Abt brakes I believe but is pushing out around 458bhp The M3 is not at all standard and stripped out i seem to remember
Thorney
Mac.....you know it makes sense M3 in that vid is stripped out, has different wheels and suspension, as with all things the driver makes the biggest difference than the car.
