Ari
"Child On Board sticker semi obscuring the high level brake light, and "Princess On Board" ( ) obscuring probably over 25% of rear vis! Good to see car safety being taken so seriously, top work!

schmoo
was driving today on the M6 north past wigan and there was a hatchback like the one above with baby on board (could have been princess) but it was slap bang in the middle of the rear screen.. 100% obscuring the rear view mirror what a clever girl and be able to drive and hold phone next to her ear too
beez
She might as well just stick the princess on the parcel shelf - might be able to see better out the back that way.

NeilB
I don't see the point of these stickers on the back window, as we can all see the little jumping up and down on the seat and sticking thier head between the front seats.

beez
According to the Simpsons its a way to get people to stop intentionally ramming into the back of your car But yeah, I think it's more so you can get some target practise with your sniper rifle over here

JoeNobody
Have you seen the 'Baby on board' teddy bears? The writing on them is so hard to read, you have to be right on their bumper to read them
MattR32
If someone DOESN'T have a "Baby on Board" sticker on their car I immediately crash straight into them proving that those signs work a treat.

beez
I was thinking of getting a custom one made for my bumper, saying in really small letters 'keep your distance'. But that'd be stupid. Writing 'HELP' in blood on the back window is definately better.
NeilB
I was thinking of getting a "Baby on board sticker" and then underneath writing 'and licened to drive like an ar$e...'
beez
But then you'd get some to55er saying 'pfftt yeah and licenced to spell like an arse too!' surely?
DaddyDub
We've had this before and some people think they work (like me) in the way they were intended (for the emergency service's) and some peple think they dont, but just cos I have one in my car when my 12 month old (who is always strapped in btw), it doesn't make me drive like an @rse, that's like saying every BMW driver is a w@nker because some of them cant use their indicators, when clearly some are law abiding safe road users (like MrME). Sorry *Rant mode off*
Ari
How do they help the emergancy services? If you look at that Deawoo, the sticker is permanantly stuck to the back window, it's there whether kids are in the car or not. I can't believe anyone puts these things in and out every time depending on whether there is a child actually on board or not, indeed the permanant ones like the Deawoo has you couldn't if you wanted. So how does it help the emergancy services? It provides no indication of children on board or not in 95% of cases so I can't believe they take any notice of them at all. garcon magnifique
To be fair, I think the original contention was the brainless positioning, not the sign & sticker themselves.

DaddyDub
The story goes, lady with a baby in the car in a baby seat, has a crash, baby and seat are ejected from the car, emergency services turn up, find lady, take her in a comertosed(sp?) state to hospital, dont know there's a baby in a child seat in the bush's, only find the baby at a later time when area is searched, baby is dead due to lack of attention at an early enough time after the accedent. The point is, they didn't know there was a baby in the car at the time so it died. I have mine at the side of the screen and only when my Boy is in the car. Hard to believe but I take it out when he's not in there. AND when I had a Passat Estate, I had it on a side window so it didn't obsure my view. Why do you lot let this things wind you up so much when there are more disturbing things on the road like R1ce buckets and untaxed/unMOT'd cars? garcon magnifique
DaddyDub, that is precisely what the signs are for in the eyes of the motoring organisations... you know that, I know that, but 99% of those that a)have them, or b)whinge about them, don't seem to know that...
