lenny
So has anyone installed a set of these? What do you think of them? http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product...o&p_id=1828
Mook
Not yet, but they are potentially on the cards with a few other engine mods. It wouldn't be worth installing them on their own i.m.o. as you will see minimal gain. The claims of increased bhp are not very well founded. All you are doing is giving the engine a few grammes less metal to spin up - it's similar to adding a lightened flywheel - no more bhp, but the engine revs more quickly, so it is more responsive when you spin it up. I ran a lightened flywheel and pulleys on a MK2 GTI 16v many moons ago and it produced a whopping 0.5 bhp extra after it was dyno'd, but it was a very free revving engine. R32North
I'd only pop them on if I had other mods as well, ie haed work, cams, etc. They should release maybe 1-2hp on the R32, doubt you'll get the 5-7hp increase they claim. R32North
If properly installed you shouldn't have any problems.... but can see that if you didn't do it right and the pulleys carcked, came away or something similar then...... whizz, pop, bang!! You're in trouble!!
Mook
Like I said, adding these things on their own is a pretty non worthwhile exercise. If you're (properly) balancing the pulley, crankshaft and lightened flywheel as a single unit, then yes, but not on their own. And there's no point in doing that lot unless you'r going to gas-flow the cylinder head. I can see the money flushing away already...

BigMeanBob
Wouldn't bother with them to be honest. I seem to remember Jim at StarPerformance installing a set of these and it din't make the blindest bit of a difference... b0b
