It may have cost me the price of a small car to change mine so much this year but finally its What a turtle go-kart.

Ian_C
[ QUOTE ] There are a few propblems I know about... I'd have thought they'd have fixed them on new cars by now. [/ QUOTE ] Noooooooo, you are assuming Audi actually bother to re-engineer inherent design faults on their cars. Ian [/ QUOTE ] I thought they just identified common faults, and then worked out to make them even more troublesome for the owner? And how to create an additional problem when they have the car in to fix the original fault. Without of course fixing the original fault. That would be far too easy. CabGirl
I think they do it to encourage you (Lottie, not me ) to change on a regular basis.
Ian_C
Well it is still far cheaper to buy a three year old even if you spend £1000 a year on running costs and 'bits'. I mean new S4s depreciate £1000 a month for Pete's sake! Ian
CabGirl
A thousand a month...! At that rate you'll be able to buy a three year old S4 for a couple of grand before long.
Ian_C
Well about 12k lost in the first year. Doesn't quite mean 36k depreciation after 36 months though! Late, low-mileage B5 Avants (in all-essential Nogaro) only make 15k now. Insane bargain! To give you some idea, in summer 2003 when looking with Toby to replace the S2, 2000 Avants reading 50k were already under 20k. Ian
CabGirl
Pheeew! It's a difficult balance - my old cabriolet used to cost well over a thousand a year to keep it in tip-top condition but if you need to be on the road every day of the year it's not ideal. As for the S4, I knew it was an excess when I ordered it but it's probably worth it.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah but probably not depreciating a penny in its later years. In fact, have you got any photo's of the 80 to hand? Don't have any in the archive. Seem to remember you posting 'old and new'. Ian
